Die hard Less Than Jake fan? Get this. Two tracks (1,4) are also featured on the full length "In With the Out Crowd" that dropped less than 2 months later and the other 2 tracks (2,3) are exclusive to this EP (much like NOFX's Never Trust a Hippy and Wolves in Wolves' Clothing). If you are partial to one singer or another there is something on here that you will dig. Chris sings lead vocals on three tracks (1,3,4) and Roger takes the lead on track 2. Lyrical content is pretty standard LTJ, but they seem retrospective on what they've done (or haven't done) instead of just ripping through without giving a shit. To me, thats totally INspired. Now whats all this talk about 'what happened to the ska'? Listen to track 3, its there. Track 1 is a mid-tempo catchy-as-fuck poppy anthem with plenty of harmonies on the chorus. But to me, thats GOOD. The guitar work is not near as impressive as "Short Fuse Burning" but thats not to say that its a bad song. I heard it on the winter tour in February 2006 with A Wilhelm Scream, Damone, and Rock N Roll Soldiers. The crowed boo-ed it, but what are you gonna do? You're gonna buy this EP, that's what! There is plenty of different tempos and sections of the songs to keep it interesting. It clocks in at 11:27. If you haven’t seen Less Than Jake live yet, get with it! Yes there are synthesizers on Rest of my Life, get over it. If you're gonna hate on LTJ because they evolved their sound, give this record a chance first.
Comes with lyric book.
Less Than Jake has now left Sire Records and separated themselves from Fueled By Ramen and are recording a follow-up record to "In With the Out Crowd" at The Blasting Room. THAT means you should look out for that!

Second and third songs are great (non album...go figure). But what the fuck is up with Overrated? This is the song that has made me NOT get their new album.

This EP disapointed me.. man i LOVE LTJ !! i will always do i was just hoping to hear more horns.. more ska.. here what i think about the songs
the 1st song would fit on "the young and the hopeless" by good charlotte i'm not saying that this is terrible but if you're a "real punk" that think that a band with a new sound is "so bad" then you should avoid this!!
the second song is like "the ghost of you and me" but.. the ghost of you and me is way better..
the 3rd song is a fast ska punk one, but. .. i didn,t like it too much (they did better stuff like it in the past!)
the last one is slower... i think that's my favorite
this EP is ok.. i wish they could do more ska but this is their band, not mine!

Uh.......where is the upbeat ska guys?
This EP is dissapointing except for "we are the uninspired" which is a non-album track ironically enough. That song has horns and is upbeat and catchy which is everything I've grown to associate with the band over the past 10 years of listening to them. But the other 3 songs on this EP are downbeat and kind of depressing. I think Vinnie should stop taking lyrical/musical ideas from his Fueled By Ramen bands.

This is great, and it made me look forward to thier upcoming cd even more. The unreleased songs are ok, not the best unreleased tracks, but a solid cd from LTJ!

Ok, at first I thought this would be poppy like Anthem on the first 2 tracks, but the 2 album tracks here sound almost like Losing Streak/ Hellorockview just off a bit cause they're not as fast. The other songs that werent on the album, they're better than the album tracks. Hopefully the album sounds like them, and not too much like anthem or hell even B is for B-sides cause it was faster and to the point.
