Loved Ones

Keep Your Heart

(Curse, Kid Dynamite and Trial By Fire)

Fat Wreck Chords 705

Released on February 21, 2006

This Philadelphia three piece came together when members from The Curse, Kid Dynamite, and Trial By Fire decided to pool their talents. Late in 2003 things clicked, and THE LOVED ONES were formed. Keep Your Heart, the follow up to their 2005 self-titled EP on Jade Tree, finds the band in full stride and firmly planted in musical greatness. Probably best described as punk rock ‘n roll, THE LOVED ONES guitar driven sound provides the perfect backdrop for front man David Hause’s melodically gruff vocals. Don’t let the hooks fool you, the lyrical content is dark and emotional. The goods are delivered in their purest form due to the fact that Brian McTernan (Thrice, Strike Anywhere, Hot Water Music) recorded and produced the album. THE LOVED ONES are loved by their comrades in the punk rock community...

Nice release its good its great but not excellent, there EP oddly gets more play than this full lenght. Its got Spider from Kid Dynamite in it so you know its decent & David Hause used to be there roadie & played in the Curse which kick some major butt, but dont expect for a Kid Dynamite too cuz you'll be definitly disapointed.

Great Album

punk.rock never dies! loved ones are the proof, this is a must-have album for those who like powerful guitars, angry melodies and suffering voices. This is definetely one of the best rock album of the years, no joke, buy this item and you will love them like i do. It's a promise.

Really enjoyed this record. Excellent melodic punk with a bit of bite to it. 'Jane' is awesome. '100k' is on their EP but this version is better, better produced. Buy it now!

I actually bought this for a friend, but, after listening to it, it really isn't that good. I thought that maybe I'd like it, considering I like the Larry Arms (who they toured with).. but I didn't. This is a really overrated CD.

Great CD, I feel like these guys really stepped it up from their last release on jade tree. Sounds great, songs are super catchy. Pretty sad lyrical content, most of the songs seem to be about someone dying in the hospital. On the flipside of that, I saw their video for the song Jane (one of the best songs on the album), it's pretty funny and makes a joke of people texting all the time at parties and out at shows. Highly recommended.

Maybe I need a few more listens, but I feel like this is a way overrated release. After all I'd read about the Loved Ones I guess I just expected more hooks. The sound quality is excellent and the CD sounds great, it's just not very memorable... Not bad, but not stellar.
