The first thing that comes to mind when at the
mention of Coalesce is "brutal". No one band has
captured the pure crushing power, chaos, and
skillful musicianship like Coalesce has. Their
legacy has left behind a trail of destroyed
equipment, torn vocal chords, and an
uncompromising pursuit to achieve true legendary
status. Their legendary debut full-length, now
back in print for the first time in nearly 4
years. Remastered and complete new artwork - the
way it was truly meant to be realized.

The true test of bands in this genre seems to be time. The emergence of mathcore began in the late 1990's and as time marches on the hoards of imitators continue to try to advance the sound of bands like Coalesce, Botch, and Converge in their own way. But make no mistake, this record is just as abrasive as ever. Though many try to replicate them, this band has a pummeling attack that is all their own. Aside from production quality, this album is just as fresh now as it would have been when it was first released in 1997.
Possibly the greatest thing to ever come out of Kansas.

you can't possibly have Botch, Converge, and Shai Hulud in your collection without anything from Coalesce. Mathcore to the bone.
