Wow, Owls!/Setup

Perpetual Motion Machine 10

Released on November 8, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

After numerous, releases on Action Driver, Electric Human Project and Init Records, Richmond, Virginia's THE SETUP return with a brand new, stoner-doused epic, recorded in the same session with engineer Andreas Magnusson (Scarlet, Black Dahlia Murder) as the material for their recent split with Back When. On the flipside is a reworked demo track and a new, exclusive track from fellow Virginians, WOW, OWLS!. Both bands feature members of the late LIGHT THE FUSE & RUN. Staying true to the absurdly awesome packaging of early Perpetual Motion Machine releases, this 7" is housed in a die-cut, two color cover that folds out into an elephant's head/trunk. All copies pressed on red vinyl with full color labels.

Hmmmmm, this is the weakest song the Setup has released in the last 1.5 years ... weird. It's still good and all, but Wow Owls! take the cake here. I wasn't as excited as everyone else about their full length release, but these 2 songs both top anything on that record. Too bad they broke up. All in all a great split though. This packaging is fucking sick.

This is an amazing 7-inch split here. The SetUp and Wow Owls bring awesome stuff to table - fresh, intense, melodic, catchy, yadda-yadda, what have you.. Seriously though, the songs on this split are good. And of course, I have to mention the fold-out elephant cover as well as the nice red vinyl this baby is pressed on - big kudos on that. If you're thinking about buying this, I say go for it. The Perpetual Motion Machine does it again. Excellent.
