My Hostage

Calling Vacation Home

(Former members of Evergreen Terrace)

New School 124

Released on November 1, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

My Hostage is a straightforward rock band built by former members of the ever-popular hardcore quintet Evergreen Terrace. With influences spanning from Jawbreaker to The Cure, My Hostage has taken Florida’s rock scene and spun it around, offering music lovers something new and original.

My Hostage’s first national release, Calling Vacation Home, is a 10-track album filled with thick, melodic guitars and solid drum beats that perfectly complement the well-thought-out lyrics on love, hate, and everyday life. With powerful vocals and plenty of notable harmonies, you’ll find yourself reaching for this CD time and time again.

"Heavy guitar and honest, passionate lyrics all backed by one hell of a great drummer leave you craving for more of My Hostage's music.guarantees high-energy rock music at its best." - PlayThemLoud.com

Traveling for the holidays? Take this album with you! I threw it in for the first time on a recent road trip and it was like a soundtrack for the trip. Full of great riff's, excellent melodies, and awesome lyrics, the album flowed smoothly from track to track. I dont know enough to compare them to Evergreen Terrace, but if I had to describe My Hostage's first NSR release in a word, I'd go with "smooth". I have to admit it took me a second listening to really catch on, but now I'm hooked. Expect to hear about My Hostage a lot more in the future.

I guess what appealed to me about My Hostage was the affiliation in some way to Evergreen Terrace, so i figured i would check it out. Its not bad but its not good, its just following that same old generic Fall Out Boy crap. If your looking for a good cd like that, Valencias album is actually really good and would check that out instead.
