I Am Ghost

We Are Always Searching

Epitaph 86789

Released on October 25, 2005

The words “dark,” “macabre” and “beautiful” only begin to describe the unique music of I Am Ghost. By seamlessly integrating the raw energy of post-hardcore with contemporary punk rock and elements of classical strings and piano, I Am Ghost have developed a unique style that crosses genres, unites scenes and makes for a powerful overall experience.

Lyrically, the band explores aspects of love, life, tragedy and triumph; the vocals range from incensed hardcore growls and screams to spine-tingling synchronous choruses that seamlessly encapsulate both beauty and sorrow.

this band is amazing. i would def. recommend buying 'Lovers' Requiem' because it's an amazing, if not better, cd as well. on the wrapper [which is true]: "this goth-punk sextet (complete with three part harmonies, violin, and piano) are fast sweeping across Souther California with their infectiosly gloomy punk rock sound. the band's buzz has been uncontrollable since the get go..." I went out on a limb to buy this. However, I would have rather of fallen off the tree instead. This is another one of those Hot Topic fashion wannabe bands that survive and thrive off of an image. The music is overly produced and at time leaves you thinking,"Was that it?" THe whole CD leaves waiting for something good to come along. Obviously, they are trying to get on MTV or something. The so called vampire themes are cheesey and stolen directly from my chemcial romance.

Save your money and buy a steak dinner or something. You'll thank me later.

Also, I don't know why so many people on here give every CD 5 Stars.

I ordered this cd the day it was released. I really love the cd. Ive listened to it quite a few times now. I think its sort of cheasy, the whole vampire theme, but I still really enjoy the songs. Alot of people have been saying they are MCR rip offs, but I actually think they sound quite a bit different than my chemical romance. They are sort of like a mix of MCR, Aiden, and AFI, all bands I love. I would deffinately recomend this cd. I also really love the cover art and the art/colors on the actual cd. I love I am ghost!

Starting off with a dark surreal opening of "The Dead Girl Epilogue" that leads into a highly energetic "Pretty People Never Die...." is just awesome. The intensive break down in "Eulogies and Epitaphs" (which was actually a fan suggest song title) is so full of emotion and power it gives me an awesome feeling everytime I hear it, the type of feeling that makes your spine tingle. As the album continues "Lady Madeline In Her Coffin" is deep. This is probably my favorite song on the album, if I had to pick only one. The final song, "The Last Goodbye of Smile and Bone" is such a great way to end such a great album. I enjoy the added sound effects which give a visual of the story portrayed throughout the album. This band has a lot, they are very deep and intense. With the accented female vocals of Kerith and the truly unique voice of Steve, this music will seriously get your blood pulsating within your veins. I love it!

If you like dark, power punk rock, post hardcore music with such a beautiful collaboration of instruments and vocal talent that touches all sides of the audio spectrum, I Am Ghost's "We Are Always Searching" is the definitely the next album for you.

Before I go on, I just wonder why Brett G. is signing some of the bands he has been lately. These guys aren't bad, i'm not sure what to think yet, I definitly went out on a limb buying this cd. There is some serious My Chemical Romance influence.....Except it isn't shitty like them. The main problem with this cd is that it really all sounds the same, I wasn't paying attention and thought it was still the 1st song when I heard a pretty sick breakdown (Which is very out of place for this cd) and noticed it was the fourth song. There is some serious creativity and new ideas they do throw into this and is much better than that other Shit MCR wanna be band Aiden. I wouldn't say these guys are wanna be My Chemical Romance but if your into MCR then you will like this. At the same time you could be like me and hate mcr but enjoy this cd like me.

Overall, i'm not sure what to think. I'd say I like half and dont like half so 3........god that was such a long worthless review
