Live 1984 Stardust Ballroom

Released on September 13, 2005

Free poster with purchase while supplies last!

Here it is, a moment in time, courtesy of Al Flipside who documented the first Samhain L.A. show at the now demolished Stardust Ballroom on Sunset in Hollywood. There is no overdubbing or audio correcting, just the raw live show in all of its pandemonium and insanity. If you were lucky enough to be there, you know what it was like. If not, maybe this will give you a glimpse into a musical genre that was ignored by the mainstream music media but went on to influence generations of musicians and music fans worldwide. Go. - Glenn Danzig

I didn't get to witness Samhain or The Misfits live and this DVD made me feel like if I was right with the crowd singing along to Samhain. I really liked this because its raw, but I was really pissed off that the camera crew do not know how to hold a fucking camera.

The music is great, its expected of course from Glenn Danzig, but certain parts of this DVD suck because either the camera men were distracted or the editors wanted to give you seizures with all the switching between all the band members and audience with different cameras but that only happens twice or three times throughout the entire video so Im just nit-picking because the entire DVD is great. THE main problem with this DVD is that I didn't get to witness it in person, but what fixes it is this DVD for letting me at least get a glimpse of what it was like.

Get this DVD, its amazing and you won't be disappointed.

I like it alot. This is my favorite live recording Samhain. In fact its the best live clean performance of Glenn Danzig I have ever heard. Some people are complaining about the lack of bonuses. Screw them, at least it has a dolby surround sound option. Anyways, both of Samhain's best albums are performed live (Initium,Unholy passion ep)and it can't better than that.

I don't think that MVD can do any wrong in my eyes. I mean really, they just keep turning out quality product after quality product. It's only 48 minutes, Danzig's vocals drop out a few times along with the lights, and the camera at Eerie Von's feet is annoying at times, but these are minor gripes considering that it's a SAMHAIN DVD.

You can actually see Danzig smile a few times, it's a bit weird.

I love Samhain. I've seen this DVD before. I think a VHS version comes with the Boxed Set maybe? Anyway...great footage. It looks like they are playing in a's so bright in there. Super-funny hilarity points for Danzig trying to play guitar on Arch Angel. This is what punk rock was all about.

This is the real deal kiddies, a real punk show from a real punk band, nothing compares to this! When you see Samhain ripping it up, you can easily see where today's dark punk bands got it from. Samhain rules N' Glenn is the MAN!!
