This is as solid as the other 2 Lucero CD's. If you have anything else by them then you know what to expect. I got this expecting that it wouldn't be as good because its their first record and they may have been finding their sound. Not the case. This is great.

Lucero is amazing in every aspect. Every album they've released is equally great. I can't pick a favorite. They're good peoples. So support them and buy their records. If you enjoy this stuff.. Check out Pawtuckets, Cory Branan, Drag The River, The Paper Hearts, or maybe some Uncle Tupelo. Enjoy. WALKER TEXAS RANGER rocks.

An amazing alt. country album. The term "country" probably scares a lot of the people looking at this, but think of it more like a country interpretation of punk, as there are definitely punk sensibilites on this record (think Jawbreaker). If you're interested in country, from Johnny Cash to Uncle Tupelo, or just good rock music, pick this up. Also check out their 2002 release, "Tennessee", on the same label.

If you like the weakerthans, johnny cash, or even leatherface's frankie stubbs this is for you. This is country about sadness, love, and drinking by guys who add a punk rock sense of pacing and energy to twang. They just released a new record called "tennessee" which is a must have if you even remotely like this one. "Wandering Star" is amazing, and there are songs on here that can't be replaced. This is really one of the most under rated bands of all time.

Wow, my surprise buy of this year. These ex-punkers play great punk inspired alt-country songs that will blow your mind. The singing is excellent, and the music is raw, dark and powerful. If you like Drag the River, Hank III, or even bands like Death Cab for Cutie, I think that you would love this CD. Do not hesitate, pick up this CD!
