Reignition 19

Released on May 31, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

One of the best punk records you'll ever hear. Recorded by John Naclerio at Nada Studios (Shai Hulud, My Chemical Romance, Matchbook Romance). Marathon's debut full length is anthemic, political, catchy, soaring, and inspirational. It's not "if" Marathon will blow up, it's "when."

I was dissappointed with this cd,their style is different but it borderlines pop punk. The very first track,"painting by numbers" is pretty catchy but i can't really get into the rest of it.

Skate punk/melodic hardcore just like the giants did it back in 1994, only considerably better. Better production, better layering, better lyrics, but still the spirit, attitude and memorable songwriting of all your favourite melodicore bands - if you like Lifetime, NOFX, Bad Religion, Strike Anywhere, Set Your Goals, etc etc - you HAVE to give Marathon a chance. You will NOT regret it. However, we will all regret their premature departure.

Hey, Marathon - get back together. For us. For you. For the good music.

I really enjoyed this album. Overall, I was impressed, but sometimes the vocals and lyrics are kind of awkward and out of place, like stretching words to fit the syllable count, for example. They mostly sound like Epitaph-style melodic punk, but there are some harder and softer elements thrown in there to decentralize it. Some of the songs are political and some are just fun. Overall, an imperfect album that is better than average and worth the purchase, a 4 out of 5.

Amazing CD, definately one of my top releases of the year. Paint By Numbers is probably my favourite track, some powerful lyrics and its just a great punk rock song which makes you want to fingerpoint.

vocals sound kind of similar to Matt Skiba at times, and the music is just punk rock. great stuff.

Great band. Great record. If you like straight up punk rock this is for you. The vocalist has an awesome voice as well. Tops in my collection.

Marathon is amazing. That is really all I need to say. This CD is really good, but I've found that I lose interest in it quicker than I did with "Songs to turn the Tide". Not to take anything away from this CD, but buy the "Songs..." EP before you buy this. Marathon is absolutely mindblowing live. If you're into their first band, De La Hoya, you'll definitely like this. If you like Dub'ya, this CD will make you hate him and if you hate him, it'll make you hate him more.

MARATHON!!! Stop whatever CD you are listening to and put in some Marathon IMMEDIATELY (unless you're already listening to Marathon--continue doing so). This release and their Songs to Turn the Tide EP are amazing. They sound like an amalgamation of a whole slew of different bands, but mostly they play good healthy punk rock. Buy this album and their EP right now and write them an email requesting that they tour farther west than Buffalo (seeing them with about 90 people in a 15 person basement in Rochester is cool, but 2/3 of America is still waiting for a Marathon show). Super nice guys, too, I'd like to add. BUY!!
