Michigan-based indie-punk quintet Bear Vs Shark has become synonymous with a chaotically beautiful live show and an eclectic musical vision that transcends numerous genres. Citing influences ranging from The Clash, The Commodores, Husker Du, Fugazi, Led Zeppelin and Archers of Loaf, Bearvsshark strive to make music that is cathartic, inspiring and emotionally cleansing experience for themselves and their listeners. The band's 2003 debut "Right Now, You're in the Best of HandsI" received rave reviews from critics. Alternative Press described the album as "Thirty-five years of rock 'n' roll lessons filtered through a tough-ass hardcore sensibility, with unexpectedly coherent and accessible results." Bearvsshark wasted no time hitting the road and shared the stage with bands such as Coheed & Cambria, Hopesfall, Bane, Armor for Sleep and Gatsby's American Dream not to mention performances at numerous festivals such as Skate And Surf, Warped Tour and SXSW. Bearvsshark's sophomore effort "Terrorhawk" is the next chapter in a story that has only just begun.
Produced by Matt Ellard (Motorhead, Morphine, Converge), the 15-track journey further explores the boundaries of indie rock in a stagnant scene needing a kick in the mouth.

I got this CD when it came out in 2005. I bought this one as an x-mas gift for my brother, because everyone I play this band for loves it. These guys put out some of the most original and energetic music I've ever heard. Musically, this is very experimental, yet melodic and catchy as well. The Lyrics are poetic and kinda abstract at times, which makes for an interesting listen. The vocals are very passionately delivered, weather they are sung or shouted. Marc (the singer) can really belt it out.
For comparison sake, BVS is kinda like Hot Water Music meets At the Drive-In. I buy lots of albums, and enjoy lots of music. This is the best thing I've heard in 2 years.

Extremely refreshing, interesting and unique blend of indie, punk and hardcore. This record combines with a lot of talent aggressivity and sensibility, experimentation, straight-forward or more complex, but always infectious melodies and Marc Paffi's distinctive vocals, into an overall raw catchiness that makes you want to jump and sing along. You gotta love the original booklet too. They were one of the most creative bands out there and they'll be sorely missed.

While not quite as catchy as "Right Now..." I think "Terrorhawk" really shows off what makes BvS so great. The quality of the band shines through when they mix things up a little bit, which this record accomplishes nicely. Fans of the first album will enjoy this one without having to deal with songs that sound exactly the same as their previous material and new fans will enjoy the melodic chaos the band is quickly becoming known for.

Awesome album, worth the cash for it. I pre-ordered and got the free T-shirt with it so it was a sweet purchase. But with or without the shirt, I'd buy it, just as good as their previous CD if not then better!

Great CD and a great follow up to "Right Now, You're In The Best Of Hands". They still have their same sound but you never feel like you're listening to the first CD all over again. If you're a fan of their first CD you will love this one as well.
