First off the second track off this CD; "Anjalee" has to be one of the best songs I have ever heard. An instant classic in my book. I got turned on this band by that DVD Documentary of their band. When I saw the footage of them making this record I had to get it. This CD is solid throughout, so if you love the country punk like I love the country punk...get it now!

This is Lucero's weakest release yet, no doubt about it. And guess what?... It STILL KICKS ASS. There are only two or three slow ballad songs on this record, much less than the previous albums. They've traded in their old sad Conutry songs for upbeat Southern Rock songs. Some parts will remind you of Lynard Skynard, no joke. I reccomend this to anyone that like Lucero, but if you're just getting into them pick up 'Tennessee' or 'That Much Further West'.

Lucero has quickly become one of my favorite bands. Like a cross between Avail and a really cool John Mellencamp. Their brand of country-blue collar has hit me like a brick bat. The songs play out like a story of love lost and last nights binge drinking. They do Memphis proud. Tennessee is bar far my favorite album of theirs (I would give that one 6 stars if I could). Their sound progresses with each new album and "Nobody's Darlings" delivers on an unspoken promise of greatness from Lucero. Each album is a book unto itself and "Nobody's Darlings" is a great addition to their library and mine. Lucero is in a class all their own and I for one am damn glad that they exist. An altogether awesome and beautiful album, I cannot reccommend it highly enough. One of the best bands on the damn planet!
