Safety Second, Body Last

Ipecac 61

Released on March 22, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

The Locust's "Safety Second, Body Last" came as a follow up to 2003's highly acclaimed "Plague Soundscapes" (10/10 in Spin and NME). These brand spanking new recordings may be the bands most (GASP) acessible yet in their long slew of releases in the last ten years. "Safety Second, Body Last" flows like a classical symphony, flying through five movements at lightening speed. Produced by Alex Newport (At The Drive In, Melvins, Panthers and many more), the tension, anxiety and release presented in this piece is enough to last you a lifetime.

This CD is good, but REALLY SUCKS at the same time. The CD is 10 minutes long and it is pretty much a real waste of money. The songs are not bad, but its still a waste of money. If you like THE LOCUST you should go buy"Plague Soundscapes" its really amazing.

This cd is nothig like "Plague Soundscapes."Their last album was a little heavier with guitar. The vocals on this release are a lot better in my opinion though.More understandable. It's pretty much 10 songs rolled up into 2 tracks. The one complaint I have is that it's too short. But, The Locust aren't known for beating a dead horse.Definantly more electronica then grindcore. It's not bad, but they've done better. If you're a huge Locust fan I would suggest buying this to complete your collection. But, if your just getting into The Locust, I would suggest starting out with "Plague Soundscapes."
