Alright, look. I know that fellow reviewers at interpunk sometimes dish out five-star ratings like they're going out of style, but believe when I say I really mean this one.

This is a pretty upbeat album compared to some of Bright Eyes' other works. With a little thought on the listener's part, you will find that these songs fit you like an old pair of trusty jeans. If you like old pairs of trusty jeans, and folk music that leaves you feeling positive and ready for your life after you're done listening to it (may you never be done listening), it would behoove you to own this album, and then buy several hundred more to distribute throughout your community to make the world a better place.

Five stars for being next to impossible to remove from my playlists, for giving me goosebumps every time I listen to it, and for supplying a song for me and my fiance to play at our wedding (First Day of My Life). That'll do, Bright Eyes. That'll do.

GREAT CD! Almost anything by Bright Eyes turns out to be Amazing (even if you do have to give it a few listens to at first, to get used to it). Great great CD. Buy it!! My personal favorite by Bright Eyes is Fevers and Mirrors, but I love it all. I love this CD. Try to get as much Bright Eyes as you can get.

This is a great cd. This album is not better than fever and mirror but everyone who like bright eyes must buy this cd. I think First day of my like is the best track of this cd. But all track is great and just buy it.

i didn't buy this for myself, it was a gift, but i already had it, so review: i prefer this album to "Digital Ash In A Digital Urn." it's got more of a indie-meets-country twang, as compared to "Digital Ash..." and the earlier ones. the songs "first day of my life" and "landlocked blues" are very sweet. this is a good album, and if you like other Bright Eyes, you'll probably like this one very much as well. it's easier to listen to, too, i don't think it's nearly as sad as "Fevers And Mirrors" or even some parts of "Lifted..." also, i would like to hear someone else even try to write any of these songs. truth is, Oberst is an excellent writer. and you're probably illiterate.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....BORING!!!! Bright Eyes used to be so good...This is garbage...EVERY song sounds the same and I could write them all myself. Fevers and Mirrors is by far their best, that was Bright Eyes golden age

This band needs to break up!

Great cd, very Bright Eyes. If you liked their other albums this one is along the same lines, a must have. I'd start with lifted or fevers and mirrors if its your first Bright Eyes album tho, those are my favorites. But the song "First Day of My Life" on this album is worth the entire cost just for it. Love it! And of course who doesnt want to support Connor?! Love him too!!
