Cartel

Ransom

Militia Group

Released on November 16, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

This is the rerelease of the debut EP from Atlanta five piece Cartel. The Ransom EP is seven songs composed of pure energy and unfettered passion expressed through distorted amps and hook filled choruses. The songs are much more diverse and less derivative and produced than most acts in this genre. Make sure to check out the mp3 of "Luckie St."

I absolutely love Cartel. This Ep is real good, it has some gems on it, but it's nowhere as good as Chroma. The version of Luckie St. is good, but can't touch the new version on Chroma. The production isn't as good, b/c the band finaced this release being the reason. The songs are move rock than pop-punk, pop-rock. Reminds me a little of Jimmy Eat World's "Bleed American/S/t" CD. Pick up Chroma first, than this.

much better than the full length in my opinion. the first two tracks are sick, as well as the fourth. could do without the last song, but hey, it's not my music to write. looking forward to seeing what direction this band decides to go after success. hopefully not another fall out boy disaster.

i actually bought "chroma" first and thought it was an incredible album. i then bought the ep and was amazed - it might even be better than the album. i can listen to every song over and over and not get bored by them. this is perfect for anyone who likes pop-punk with infectious choruses and sing-along lyrics. with the mainstream success of fall out boy & all-american rejects, these guys are bound to follow along. i highly recommend this ep ... and go buy "chroma" as well!

I would highly recommend buying this CD to anyone that...yeah, just anyone. These songs are catchy as hell without being too predictable and simple. The vocals are slightly reminiscent of New Found Glory's only much less whiny and annoying. It's a great CD to sing your heart out to. Cartel definitely stands out in the overflooding pop/punk market.

This CD can only be described by one word : Brilliant... It's one of the greatest CD's I've ever bought. The vocals are nothing short of amazing, the guitars are spectacular, and the melodies are awesome. This album gets my highest recommendation, and I consider myself a music snob, very picky. Buy this CD and you will be blown away!
