Filligar

Background Formed in 2000, FILLIGAR consists of Chicago brothers Pete, Teddy and Johnny Mathias and friend Casey Gibson. Initially under the name "The Flipside," FIlligar has now recorded five full-length albums: the first four at Studio 11 and their latest new hit "Succession, I Guess" at Gravity Studios in Chicago.They have played shows throughout the Midwest and East Coast, at a number of college campuses and world-class venues. Filligar draws their influences from contemporary bands such as Wilco, Fleetwood Mac, The Flaming Lips, and Tom Petty.

Members JOHNNY MATHIAS (18) Guitar/Vocals (Dartmouth College '11) Johnny has studied guitar for 9 years under private instruction and has been writing original songs for the last 8 years. He has been involved in a capella and takes voice lessons. He is also a member of the Second City teen improv ensemble in Chicago. CASEY GIBSON (20) Keyboards/BG Vocals (Hamilton College '09) Casey has studied both classical and jazz piano for 14 years and has been studying voice for 1 year. He is currently pursuing a double major in Music and Economics. TEDDY MATHIAS (20) Bass/BG Vocals (Dartmouth College '09) Teddy has studied bass for 7 years under private instruction and continues to study bass at Dartmouth. He is also a member of the renowned Dartmouth Gospel Choir. He is pursuing a major in Anthropology. PETE MATHIAS (20) Drums/Percussion (Dartmouth College '09) Pete has studied percussion for 8 years and continues to study music theory at Dartmouth. He is a member of Dartmouth's World Percussion Ensemble. Pete is pursuing a double major in Classics and History.
