"The Salad Days" is Hotbox's earliest recordings and one of three albums released by the band. HOTBOX formed in 1997 by members: Mel Chappell - Vox, Barry d'Live - Guitar (RKL, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, GWAR, Crosstops), Johnny Bolt - Bass (Texas Theives) and Bob Simmons- Drums. Joining in 2000, Matt McKenzie on Bass (Tsunami Bomb, the Action Design). Other guest members include: Chris Rest - Guitar (Lagwagon, RKL), Adam Cunha - Bass and Pete Koff - Drums. HOTBOX toured the west coast several times including a stint with the Warped Tour in 2001. Hotbox's Discography consists of 3 albums: "Lickity Split", "The Salad Days", & "Songs From Tour"- all released on Roach Coach Records. Singer/Songwriter Mel Chappell also has released a solo album titled, "Heart On Sleeve" available through Roach Coach Records on Interpunk and numerous other outlets. HOTBOX has been featured on many compilations including Fat Wreck Chords' 1999 release, "Short Music for Short People" and were vote "Best Punk Band" in 1999 by San Francisco Bay Guardian.
