$11.50

Over three years in the making, Jane Doe is the most dynamic and devastating release of Converge's 10+ year history. The band has done what they do best by once again re-defining an entire genre of music and creating a new standard for a hardcore/metal band.

Great Album. From start to finish it is a very dynamic recording. The songwriting on this album is great.

4/12/2002 by Ryan from Golden, CO Rating:
Let me tell you, these guys fuckin rock. They are some of the finest indie-hardcore/grind-core I know of. I saw them just recently for the first time at Tulagi's in Boulder, CO. It was amazing. That was the same night when the CU Buffs beat another big team in the playoffs, so there were riots in the street outside the theater. Cops lit off tear-gas and it got into the theater, while Converge was playing. They kept playing despite the tear gas and it was the most intense and fun show I have been to. Definitely check these guys out.

if you are a metal core fan, and you are a converge fan. Then this album is a must for you! It's crushing sound and calming change ups most likely will give you goose bumps.

What is there to say about 'Jane Doe'? It's unique. It's heavy. It's worth how long Converge fans waited for it. 'Jane Doe' displays everything Converge has picked up since they first started. This release destroys all other competition, this CD is the BEST hardcore CD of 2001.

11/24/2001 by Zach from New Albany, OH Rating:
great release from converge. the first thing i noticed was the packaging, beautifully done artwork from atomic id (run by their singer jacob). after a few listens i really came to enjoy this release. the guitars are pretty crazy sounding but the rhythm section keeps everything together. album has a little drag but the last track blows me away with every listen.

9/30/2001 by Sharron from Arcanum, OH Rating:
Breath-taking. Amazing. By far, the most complex, intricate, and mature release to date by this earth-rattling band. "Jane Doe" has every aspect of a "metal-core" masterpiece. The packaging alone takes a good while to get over....the amber-tinted jewel case comes enclosed in a cardboard slipcase, and inside you will find a 24 page booklet of some of the greatest pieces arranged by Jake as well as the lyrics(which are kinda hard to read....thank heavens that Equal Vision put up a lyric page for it). Now the music- beautiful, ugly, chaotic, static-ridden, high shrill scream, throaty yells, cool calm serene singing, breakdowns, blastbeats, cymbal-molestation, bass that speaks volumes of low-end, patterns that can't be figured out, basically-10xs more than your expectancy of Converge. The lyrics that I once thought couln't get any deeper and amazing.....got deeper, and amazing. A lot of releases that are highly-anticipated usually build up your excitement only to let you know that you wasted your money on it......not this. When they say "3 years in the making" or "most devastating release" they're correct. This cd is way more than I expected, and in my mind, is one of those "minestone" releases. Defenitly the next step in "extreme music". I absolutly love this cd, and any fan of the genre should take heed and buy this revolver and totally let it blow your mind. Unbelievably essential.
