| Everything that revolves around them looks dark and creepy and that's what pushed me away from them at first. Then I saw them on the cover of A.P. and I read their article. I decided to give them a try and I was suprised by how radio-friendly it is, but that's not a bad thing. Matt Skiba's vocals reach the point of having a hint of Joel Madden's voice.
The whole cd is good, but I can tell you that if I could only pick one song to save from a burning building, it would be the song "You're Dead" which bottled up the typical high school depression.
"If assholes could fly, this place would be buier than O'Hare, There's proof in the skies, It's as thick as our skulls yet thinner than air." |

| This was the first Alkaline Trio CD that I bought. It's pretty good. The singer has a good sounding voice. I like the emotion that he sings with. The music is good, not simple poppy punk stuff. Not saying that there isn't that in some of the songs but then again it is what it is. I like it better than their new album. Good Stuff. I like the imagery the lyrics create. FYI-I am a fan of lots of types of music, not just punk, power pop and similiar music. Just so you know where critique is coming from. |

| i ordered this album and completed the trio of alk3 albums and i would have to say that i rate it above "maybe i'll catch fire" which i can't get enough of. best tracks in my opinion would be 'private eye', 'take lots with alcohol', 'armageddon' and 'crawl' although theyre all great. highly recommended for old or new alk3 fans! |

| got a few songs off this album through the internet and when i heard it, it made them my favorite band. i dont know why i waited this long to get it.. but this is just another reason why. i just had to buy a copy. compared to their earlier stuff, this sounds catchier and more produced but songwriting and the lyrics more than make up for it. lyrics are as heartfelt and poetic as ever, while the melodies blends in with it.. and as usual.. matt and dan's voices still kicks ass! i cant wait for the new album this may.. |

| This cd is like the best from Alk 3. Besides their self titled cd. This one takes the cake. They have a nic hardcore sound which makes them great. They have deep lyrics and nice guitar riffs. I think that they could have 6 stars but five is the so called limit so thats what i put down. go Alkaline Trio keep them coming. - James (not Linda) |
