Street Dogs are a 4 piece rock/ punk rock band from Boston, MA with a mutual love and respect for real music. Formed in 2002, the band’s goal was to take punk and rock influences they had grown up with, mix melody, power, and a real, honest portrayal of the world and put it on record to take to the masses. The result is explosive and infectious.

Their debut album, Savin Hill, has 15 powerful, jump out of your seat, sing-along anthems clocking in at just over 40 minutes. Dig a little deeper into Street Dogs, and you’ll find 4 guys tired of the cookie cutter, bubble gum, TRL, excuse for punk rock. Street Dogs are proof positive that it is still possible to have catchy angst driven songs set to a real life lyrical backdrop.

What can I say the street Dogs are the @#$%! It has a song on it with Al Barr, Ken Casey, and Mike M on it singing! What else could you ask for. Kenny Soulsbyville, CA

I actually bought this cd for my sister for Christmas, but I was in her car today and heard it. It was quite excellent. I have their "Back to the World" cd, I think I might like this one a little more though. I also saw them live a few months ago and they were awesome. For those of you who didn't know the Street Dog's singer Mike used to be the singer of the Dropkick Murphys on their "Do or Die" album. So if you liked that you will like this too! I promise you that the Street Dogs are freaking awesome so check them out. Do it now!

Street Dogs destroy. First record. Clocks in at 41:06. They've gotten better with each record, but then again they get a new lineup for each record. This does not disappoint. Really excellent songs. You have an idea of what you are getting into because I’m sure you have “Do or Die” by the Dropkick Murphys and realize that the same person is responsible for this record and that one as far as vocals and lyrics go. Working class Boston punk at its best. For some of us, the thought of Al Barr, Ken Casey, AND Mike McColgan singing on the same stage is amazing. But singing on the same song on a record is pretty close to it. And you get that on “Stand Up” which pretty much sums up what both of those bands stand for! What a deal. And you also get The Mighty Mighty Bosstones’ Dicky Barrett lending guest vocals on the track right before that, “Justifiable Fisticuffs”. The Lost City Angels sing back up vocals on this record too as well as Joe Sirois (Mighty Mighty Bosstones drummer who became Street Dogs drummer on the next 2 records). Some songs are slower but that doesn’t take away from their message one bit. And of course you get the Boston version of “Borstal Breakout”. Can’t beat that. Although they've released "Back to the World" and "Fading American Dream" since this one, they still play some of these songs live. Sick guitar work on this record!Even if you are more partial to slower music you can find something on this release that you will dig. Give it a try!Comes with lyrics on the back of a little fold-out poster! The record closes with ole Mike givin' you a piece of his mind in spoken word: "...WE WILL FIGHT"

The Street Dogs are fucking fantastic live! Go see them, they tour like maniacs!

1)Buy this 2)Push play 3)Go see them 4)Pump your fist

This album is pretty damn good. Great if your a fan of older DKM stuff. Plus Al & Ken from DKM sing on one of the songs. If you have any other Street Dog albums buy this one. Like their other 2 albums this one kicks ass!

10/19/2006 by Brad from Chatham, IL Rating:
When I first discovered the Street Dogs I wasn't sure what to think. Most remember Mike McColgan from the early Dropkick Murphys days. Of course his voice is similar to his time in DKM (kind of hard to change your voice), that's alright, this doesn't feel like a rip-off, it has a refreshingly original feel to it actually. This one still gets played very regularly.

4.5...I had the AMP street punk comp; recognized DKM ex-singer's voice and bought it to see what it was about. Real good stuff. Check out Ducky Boys too. They should have been on that comp too now that I think about it....

1/14/2006 by Emily from Sydney River, NS Canada Rating:
This is Tyler and Emily. Okay, this album was the Street Dogs first record, and could easily be one of the best punk records of the last 10 years. Mike MacColgan is better here then he was with the Murphys, another great band, but the Street Dogs have less of that irish novelty thing going (still strong, just not as over the top as the murphys). The album just puts you in a really good mood, especially if you work a crummy job and need something to pick up your spirits at 8:30am in your car. They even cover Sham 69's Borstal Breakout, and redo it into "Boston Breakout". Buy this album if you like good, traditional Boston style street punk. You won't be dissapointed.

10/30/2005 by Jonathan from Albuquerque, NM Rating:
This is the album when the drummer from the old Dropkick Murphys played with them. Although it kicks ass, I do like the new album better. The drummer from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones plays on the new album. One of their guitarists is from the Bruisers. (The lead-singer of the Bruisers, Al Barr, now sings for the Dropkick Murphys.) I have seen these guys twice and met them all. Almost everyday I sport my Street Dogs scally cap from the last show. Good working-class street rock worth while for fans of Bruisers, Dropkick Murphys, Ducky Boys, etc. -type Boston punk rock.

excellent debut album and first class street rock n roll. not quite as good as back to the world but definitly worth buying - in fact get it now!

1/27/2005 by Diane from Butte, MT Rating:
This is an upbeat, anthem-filled album. Personally, I think Mike's voice works better with the Street Dogs than with Dropkick Murphys. I saw them in October with Flogging Molly and they were great! I bought their CD and actually like them more now that I've had a chance to listen to their CD a few times.
