Since the release of their first full length "Unraveling" nearly two years ago, Rise Against have wasted no time in getting their music out to the masses! Touring with the likes of Boy Sets Fire, Thursday, NOFX, Agnostic Front, TSOL, Casualties, Sick Of It All, Snapcase, and AFI, has enabled this Chicago four piece to truly hone their skills. After spending a few weeks laying the tracks down at the Blasting Room with Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore, the four piece re-emerged with an album that will surely perk your ears. The band's ability to marry hardcore intensity with melody is what sets them far ahead of the punk rock pack!

well...i got this cd yesterday, and i havent turned it off. if people give the cd anything less than 5, then they are retarded. if someone says this cd is bad...the are wrong. there are no opinions when it comes to the new rise against cd. it is simply amazing. every song is power packed yet perfectly melodic to the type of music that it is. im aware that last statement may or may not have made sense. at any rate, buy this cd. if you dont you will be shunned from the community, and probably hung on a cross. do yourself a favor, aviod the embarassment and degregation, and buy this cd.

yet another great cd from rise against. its too bad that mr.precision is no longer the guitarist in the band but todd is an excellent replacement. even the singer, tim, picks up the quitar and plays in a couple songs. buying this cd would be a wise decision, all of the songs are good but voices off camera is my fav. rise against is going to start opening up more peoples eyes with this cd. ......the cover song is awesome but i have no clue what its called, maybe someone knows

6/2/2003 by Jay from Pownal, VT Rating:
Rise against is so good. Original songs with great meaning and good sound. Heaven knows is so good you'll be singing it all the time and Halfway There is so powerful. I love the secret song(an old cover) they do it very well and dont discrace the oldies. A great to add to n e ones collection.

5/25/2003 by Giacomo from Milano, Italy Rating:
Awesomeness is what comes to my mind everytime i listen to this cd. Straight hardcore punk without any of those Metal or emo influences that seem to be in every frekin' CD!! Rage, speed and great lyrics! Need More? Go BUY IT!! This is the kind of music that made me love the PunkHardcore scene

Holy balls. I wanted to see what all the hype was about so i bought the new Rise Against. I was impressed to say the least. This album is fucking amazing and can be appreciated by anyone who loves good music. A definate full 5 stars.

5/7/2003 by Theo from Manchester, MA Rating:
fat puts out only the best, this is great! I had only heard one song and knew I would like the album. Its hardcore, not the usual hardcore like Toxic Narcotic, but more produced. GET IT YOU'LL LIKE IT.

5/5/2003 by Nancy from Lancaster, CA Rating:
This is an excellent cd. It may seem disappointing that there are only 13 songs (including a pretty good cover), but that's no problem considering that none of these are fillers. The variety is good, different tones throughout the album keep it fresh, and the vocals are solid. I didn't think most of the songs had the instant catchiness of The Unraveling's "Six Ways til Sunday" or "Reception Fades", but on average the songs on Revolutions are better. Don't waste your money on crap cds, dis here cd be reel gewd.

5/4/2003 by Justin from Fargo, ND Rating:
rise against is better than whatever you are listening to right now. every song on this album kicks ass, and i knew it would be very tough to top the unraveling, but they did it. you will not be dissapointed. if you loved the unraveling, you will love this. if you sort of liked the unraveling, you will love this. skip the cover after a few listens. its good but kind of ruins the serious mood of the album.

4/30/2003 by Ivan from Springfield, VA Rating:
More hardcore and well written than the first, along with catchier hooks. Probably cause joe left and tim's taken over all the main guitar jig. The one thing that makes it perfect is the hidden track. The cover is good as a novelty and fun to listen to a couple times, but overall is a pretty lame dumb song compared to the more serious content of the album. But it is afterall a hidden track so you dont gotsa be listenin to it if ya dont want, so..5!! VERY NICE!!!

4/29/2003 by Levi from Ames, IA Rating:
At first listen, this album didn't quite hit me the way I expected it to. I had anticipated harder songs like "Gethsemane" and "Generation Lost" to be prevalent, but I was not quite satisfied. And for a title like "Revolutions Per Minute", there is only one overtly political song, which surprised me. Other than these small grievances, I can say that this album is truly worth a listen for all Rise Against fans. The song stylings remind me of recent Good Riddance, with many melodic, personal tunes edged with aggressive vocals, and a couple short, hardcore songs to juice up the album. Memorable titles are "Black Masks & Gasoline", "Like the Angel", and "Torches". "Last Chance Blueprint" has an excellent storyline layout that will please many moviegoers, and there is even a dandy cover song to keep your toes tapping.

Most fans will agree that the unique vocals of Tim McIlrath is what keeps Rise Against rivalling other melodic hardcore bands. If you are a big fan of those raspy, soothing deliveries, then check out the double-disc anthology by .baxter. for some of Tim's older stuff.

I still can't decide whether this album tops "The Unraveling", but it is definitely no worse than the former.
