| Teenage Bottlerocket - They Came From The Shadows |
To put it simply, Teenage Bottlerocket are
currently one of the hottest and most talked about bands
in punk rock. As evidenced by their feature in Alternative
Press as a “Band You Need To Know in 2009”, the band’s
popularity is gaining momentum like a runaway train on
greased rails. The most rocking thing to come out of
Wyoming since, well… ever, Teenage Bottlerocket
have taken pleasure in showing everyone just how potent
and exhilarating that fresh, gimmick-free punk rock can
be. The release of their third full-length, They Came From
the Shadows, marks their first Fat Wreck Chords release,
and easily their most anticipated offering to date. They
Came From the Shadows is comprised of 14 straight
forward punk rock gems, laced with the unforgettable
melodies that have become the calling card of TBR. The
Cowboy State quartet ignite the powder keg with the
absolutely ripping “Skate or Die”, and maintain the
cadence throughout the album with one punchy, classic
punk rock hit after the next. In the tradition of the
Ramones (leather jackets and all), TBR bring an
unrelenting barrage of fast-paced anthems that will no
doubt serve as the sound track for a generation.

| When I first heard Teenage Bottlerocket, I couldn't help but think that the Ramones had been brought back to the stage and studio. This record changes that, as it doesn't give me quite the Ramones vibe, but it's not a bad thing by any means. This to me is Teenage Bottlerocket breaking into their own sound, and it's an awesome record. Every song is good, though my personal favorites as yet are "Bigger Than Kiss", "Forbidden Planet", and "They Came From The Shadows". |

| Awesome band, this is not their best cd, but still really good. I would recommend buying warning device first if you dont own it yet. But this cd is still a must have for any pop punk fan. Teenage bottlerocket kicks fuckin ass! Highlight tracks include not okay, skate or die, and todayo. |

| First of all I love this band, but I feel that this release is a bit of a step in the wrong direction. What's with the sci-fi theme? Who are they the Lillingtons now? (2 songs in particular sounded waaay too much like the Lillingtons) I guess they are also going for a tougher sound now which does sound pretty damn good in its own right (listen to Forbidden Planet) but it's not why we love them. They should have wrote more songs like Todayo (the best song on the album) and less songs like Fatso Goes Nutzoid. Maybe they should have taken a little more time with this one, but who am I to say? Overall I do like this album alot, just a bit different, maybe it has something to do with the new label, who knows. Best songs are Skate or Die and Todayo. |

| To put it simply, I love this album. These Wyoming pop-punkers managed to come out with another great album. This album, to me, seems like they go back to they style of their first LP, Another Way. This album sounds a little bit rougher than their last two albums but equally as great. I can hear that Miggy is getting better because the bass lines are getting a little bit more intricate. I love the fact that they turned the bass up a lot on this album, but I'm a bassist so not everyone may appreciate that. For people wanting to just check out some songs to see if they will like it, I'd recommend listening to Skate or Die, Bigger Than Kiss, Do What? and Todayo (which is my favorite on the album). Get this album! You won't regret it |
