The first proper full-length album from Wyoming's favorite sons! In light of the dismal musical climate it would seem that isolation has only strengthened this band's songwriting. Rather than waste their time with low-cut jeans, these young upstarts spend their efforts writing infectious punk songs, and they delivered the best Ramones-core record of the new millennium. Shortly after Teenage Bottlerocket agreed to work with Red Scare, they added a second guitarist. Oh, not just ANY guitarist, it was Kody from Lookout's legendary pop punk trio The Lillingtons. Better yet, Kody went on to write and sing half the songs on "Total".

Listening to this cd reminds me of when I was 17 and was constantly blasting Screeching Weasel out of my car stereo. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who likes the sound of the Ramones or SW. Every song on this cd is good.

4/6/2006 by Russell. from Parma, OH Rating:
I am not the biggest Ramones fan, but I respect the band and I like quite a few of their songs. I know there are bands out their keeping the "Ramones sound" alive. This is one of those bands, and they do an exceptional job! This CD is fun. It has some excellent high points too. Not just a homage band, they have enough of their own flavor to make their songs fresh, fun and good.

3/25/2006 by Jean-francois from Canton De Hatley, PQ Canada Rating:
Wow, this album has to be one of the most successful "Local" albums to ever sell on Interpunk...

...and it's indeed a good one. Nothing too revolutionary here musically or lyrically, but the Bottlerocketeers draw on their knack for crafting immediately-hummable choruses and come up with an album that reminds everyone how to write real pop punk. Although I'll be the first to admit that I prefer the grittier sound and more cynical lyrical content of Midwestern punk, the catchiness of TOTAL can't be denied. Just don't expect any big surprises or amazing lyrics. This is album that works by virtue of its almost tongue-in-cheek simplicity.

3/16/2006 by Steve from Bartlett, TN Rating:
Awesome cd.great lyrics & catchy as hell, just the way it should be.can't wait to hear their next one.must be amazing live.somewhere Joey's smiling.

3/14/2006 by Matthew from Naperville, IL Rating:
i think its pretty lame and at this point, a mute opinion to be reviewing this album now. But either way. I got this when it came out, and i liked it from the first listening of it. Its one of my favorite pop-punk records i own. So in any estimation, you should get it, whether you love pop punk or just good music, its realllly that good. This will go down as a classic. and why shouldn't it? it has fucking Kody Lillington.

(note: if you don't already, listen to the Lillingtons. And if you own a record player, get their other release "Another Way". very solid, very good.)

3/5/2006 by Frazer from Devon, United Kingdom Rating:
Amazing, what more can i say?Not a bad track on here.Reccommended 100%,top tracks include so cool, radio,so far away, bloodbath at burger king, stupid games-well ALL OF 'EM basically!Do yourself a favour and pic this gem up asap, you won't regret it if you're into Lillingtons,Huntingtons,Retarded etc.

2/28/2006 by Gavin from Belfast, United Kingdom Rating:
It's very simple, if like me you love Screeching Weasel, Queers, Lillingtons, Methadones, Hanson Brothers & even Riverdales, then you need this album. 3 chord punk rock at its Ramones-fuelled best. A lot of bands that imitated this style in the late 90's & early 00's fell short, this is right up there with the best of them. It's sometimes funny to hear bands blatently rip off other bands but in this case it's done so well, you forgive them. Kody from the Lillingtons sings about 1/2 the songs & plays guitar on this & it's really great. Best tracks - Blood Bath at Burger King, Radio & So Far Away. Another great release from Red Scare. I'm giving this 4 stars because of it's lack of originality, but let's face it, if this was 1996 this would be hailed as a classic.

2/7/2006 by Jon from Effingham, IL Rating:
Great album. If you like the Lillingtons then this is a no-brainer. I like it alot more than the previous Lillingtons releases, much the way I like the Riverdales more than Screeching Weasel, even though each group is basically the same as their original line-ups. As far as the 3-chord, whoa oh stuff, yeah there's a bunch but if you like that, and I do, then this is for you.

12/23/2005 by Brian from Charlotte, NC Rating:
I felt scared. I felt like I was all alone. Then a man appeared before me and told me he could make all my pain go away. Later that night I was tripping on acid and I bought this album. It's alright if you like the Lillingtons, nowhere near as cool as they are thoughe.

12/14/2005 by Thor from Fairmont, MN Rating:
i think these guys will be the next green day. this is good in small doses, the songs are so fuckin simple, its like 3 chords, a verse a chorus and some whoa oh oh's on every song. its worth it though. pick this shit up.
