The first proper full-length album from Wyoming's favorite sons! In light of the dismal musical climate it would seem that isolation has only strengthened this band's songwriting. Rather than waste their time with low-cut jeans, these young upstarts spend their efforts writing infectious punk songs, and they delivered the best Ramones-core record of the new millennium. Shortly after Teenage Bottlerocket agreed to work with Red Scare, they added a second guitarist. Oh, not just ANY guitarist, it was Kody from Lookout's legendary pop punk trio The Lillingtons. Better yet, Kody went on to write and sing half the songs on "Total".

1/4/2007 by Jason from Oxford, MS Rating:
This is one of my favorite albums I have purchased in the past couple of years. It is played well, recorded well, and written relatively well. Most punk rock music is extremely pretentious and this is far from it. There are no antigovernment rants, no 3 foot high pink mohawks, and none of that "let's reinvent punk rock" crap. There are two bad ass vocalists, well played, Ramones-style guitars, double timed ride cymbals, and good rhythm in general.

This band is NOT the Lillingtons regardless of similar members. Most of the reviews on here try and compare it to "Death by Television" but it shouldn't be. It stands on its own. If you want to hear a new Lillingtons record, may I suggest playing "Death by Television" on reverse or on 45 rpm. If you are lucky, you might hear a satanic message.

11/27/2006 by Nikki from Huber Heights, OH Rating:
This CD wasn't horrible, but nothing stand out either. It is reminiscent of the Queers and sounds exactly like the Lillingtons. So, if you like either of those bands, you'll love this CD. Personally, it was a bit too repetitive for me which made me like it a whole lot less.

Finally i got TBR's record, i'm ashamed to say i took a year before i buy this album while enjoying the downloads! But no more self-bashing it's time to talk about the record. This record starts off great with Kody/Ray duo on Radio and So Cool which are two of the best pop-punk songs ever written, then we have Stupid Games and Fall For Me, the first one speedy and buzz-saw-ish but awesome and full of teen angst, and a more mellow down semi-ballad type of song, one of my personal favourites. Crashing altough good isn't quite as good as the previous tracks, the follow-up is a AMAZING song with all the sci-fi references, woohs and ahhs and catchy choruses you'll ever need i'm talking of course of Lost in Space, Go Away has a great guitar and a catchy chorus, it's an overall good effort as well as Crashing which has a slower pace than most songs on the album, Blood Bath At burger King is straight out of Kody's old songs, being tired of working and psycho feelings, the track is not only catchy but it's the one that'll make you dance and sing along, Veronica sounds a bit like Go Away (not a bad thing), Repeat Offender has a great Kody/Ray duo and is one of the most underrated tracks on the album, A Bomb is a bit boring but has a GREAT bass line and the chorus is pretty fun, and finally the album builds up for a mind blowing track, the ultimate Ballad with a perfect tune between Ray/Kody, Kody sings his heart out in the best track of a stelalr record. A Must Buy!

7/11/2006 by Patrick from Columbia, MO Rating:
Awesome pop-punk, one of the catchiest albums I own, if you pride yourself on a good poppy music collection, you gotta get this one, Cody's voice is prolly the best in the biz

5/28/2006 by Jeremy from Columbus, OH Rating:
This has been said of other bands, and is very true of Teenage Bottlerocket: They only know one song, but what a damn good song it is. Sure, they're ape-ing the Ramones, but they do it better than The Methadones, The Lillingtons (Kody's old band), and yes, even the sacred Screeching Weasel. This record gives you endless sugary sweet nuggets of pop-punk that won't leave your head for days. Yet, they have more cojones than most catchy punk bands. Pick it up if you like the three-chord, Ramones, poppy stuff.

5/18/2006 by Addison from Richmond, VA Rating:
Dude great cd. You can tell these guys don't care about fasion and what is punk scene is now, they just want to play there fuckin instruments, and they do it well. Good lyrics, voice and drums. The only thing i would suggest to them is making up totally different gutiar riffs, because sometimes they were the exact same or close to it in a different song. But that doesn't matter! They kick all ass, and they came out of Wisconsin.

5/10/2006 by Joey from Riverview, NB Canada Rating:
REd Scare has been releasing some excellent cds so far and this one is no different. Its Pop Punk the way its supposed to be played. For Fans of Chixdiggit Riverdales & Screeching Weasel.

4/24/2006 by Kevin from Houston, TX Rating:
I actually had this CD once and gave it away. I felt it was a step back from The Lillingtons. But a few months ago a friend persuaded me to listen to it again and after listening to some of the songs again....I knew I had misjudged it and needed it back in my collection once more! REPEAT OFFENDER is echoing in my brain!
