| This album doesn't even sound like a Screeching Weasel album. Looking back at Screeching Weasel's entire discography this one sticks out like a sore thumb. I mean when you actually compare the lyrics to this with every other SW album it just seems that it wasn't really written to be a SW album. Static is an awesome song and it's really the only song that sounds like it is a SW song. Acknowledge is a really good song. Everything else varies quality wise; most of them are ok and none of the songs are downright bad.
To conclude, I think the album is ok but it doesn't fit in with the other SW albums, I think Emo would have made a fine Ben Weasel solo album though. So make Emo one of the last SW albums you purchase because they have so many other great albums to start with. Enjoy! |

| What a weird album. I have no idea what Ben was doing with this one. At first I hated this one but it grows on ya eventually. So I guess for this album, Ben just wanted this raw sound without any pop and all in one take. Now that's fine and for the most part, this is a pretty good CD but I have a few complaints. One: A lot of the lyrics sound like he wasn't even trying, I rolled my eyes a few times because of how much they remind me of the bad 16 year old poetry I used to write when I got my heart broken. Two: Somethings up with his voice. Like one reviewer said, it sounds like he's doing an impersonation of himself. The first time I heard "Last Night" I felt a little embarrassed but now I believe it's one of his best songs. All the negative being said, I recommend this album to any Screeching Weasel fan. It takes a while to get used to but it's worth the time. 3 3/4 STARS |

| Anyone who doesn't like this CD, truly doesn't get it. It's punk rock stripped down to it's purest form. Ben Weasel has the knack like no other to write great music, with just as poignant lyrics. The Descendents came out with a new CD this year ( which rules), come on guys follow suit. p.s.- I have the Screeching Weasel logo tatooed on my arm next to my alkaline trio logo, and blink182 bunny. |

| I don't know why I waited so long to get this CD. I needed it to complete my collection of SW albums. The recording quality isn't the greatest but the songs are really good. If you are new to SW I don't recommend getting this CD first. "Emo" is more of an aquired taste. It might take a few listens to get used to but it's definitly worth picking up. |

| Screeching Weasel, what can I say. It's not their best album but it's still better than any other punk band's greatest record. Screeching Weasel is the best fucking punk rock band in the history of the planet. |

| This is definately Screeching Weasel's worst album. The style of Emo that Ben chose is bland and unattractive. If you are a fan and absolutely need to have all of their albums, buy it. Otherwise get "Bark Like A Dog," their best release. |

| This album isnt bad...its just not very good either. Most of the songs sound completely alike so if you like one song you just might like the whole thing. I dont really listen to this at all, it might grow on you after a while. I basically hold on to it to round out my Weasel collection. |

| this cd is great. the lyrics are more upbeat than their other cds. i love this cd because theres a few songs that begin with ben weasel playing palm muted power chords on the guitar and singing before they get heavier. rancid does this on quite a few of their songs...particularly on out come the wolves and life wont wait, although screeching weasel sounds nothing like rancid. this is a great cd. |
