Beautiful Mistake - Light A Match, For I Deserve To Burn
Beautiful Mistake

Light A Match, For I Deserve To Burn

Militia Group 8

Released on September 24, 2002

Sorry, but this item is no longer available

Together just over two years, this four-piece has grown considerably since the release of their self-titled EP earlier this year. The full-length expands on their powerfully compelling sound with songs like 'On Building', 'Circular Parade' and the title track. Reminiscent of such acts as Thursday, Further Seems Forever and Thrice, TBM offers up plenty of quieter melodic moments, only to have them give way to aggressive breakdowns and the guttural screams of co-vocalists Josh Hagquist and Shawn Grover.

Great album, but for some reason, it doesn't read on my computer?

anyways, the cd is wonderful. the screaming along with the music makes it so full of emotion. Wonderful. The version of "For a Friend" I think is worse than the one that's on their self-titled EP. The artwork is incredible. Lyrics - genious.

Definitely pick this up if you like semi-heavy music with powerful emotion.

11/19/2005 by Jamie from Westwood, MA Rating:
I love every single man in this band. They're all fabulous, especially bobby. But that's besides the point. this emotionally charged band is perfectly balanced with screaming vocals, growls, and heavenly singing. Defiantely pick it up, and once you listen to this cd, pick up their cd "this is who you are".

5/31/2005 by Mike from Waterloo, ON Canada Rating:
This CD is okay. Some of the instrumentals are really cool and interesting, however, other parts are boring and repetitive. Why are people saying this band is "slightly hardcore?" They're an emo band.

Regardless, they do have a consistent sound, which could be good or bad. Some of the songs seem like they're just there for filler and they just wanted to finish the CD. That's the impression I get.

6/28/2004 by Ben from Hillsborough, NJ Rating:
I wasn't impressed. It's your standard-issue slightly hardcore band. The songs are monotonous and repetitive. Circular Parade and Light a Match were ok, but otherwise, not worth your cash. Go out and by a Thrice or From Autumn To Ashes CD instead.

4/4/2004 by Kat from Boca Raton, FL Rating:
This has got to be one of the best CD's I own. They sound is so mindblowing, and josh hagquist has such an amazing voice. Get this CD!

11/28/2003 by David from Jamestown, NC Rating:
This CD is excellent. Then guitar riffs are amazing. Good blend of hardcore, emo(?), and melodic music. This should definitely be next on the list.

10/10/2003 by Jeffrey from Commack, NY Rating:
This band is ok. Its not a bad cd but it just sounds like all the other bands that have the alternating singing/screaming vocals. if you like bands like Matchbook Romance or Taking back Sunday you will enjoy this. They are not worse than any of these bands, just the same with nothing new.

5/25/2003 by Wes from Wichita, KS Rating:
This is a really great album, its not one that you will listen to religiously for the rest of your life, but it is really good. The vocal styles in the band are great and they go well with the music. This is a good album to purchase if youre starting to listen to "heavier" stuff with screaming and the like. Definately worth your money. Great album.

5/21/2003 by Alicia from Yuba City, CA Rating:
This is an awesome cd... if you like deep emo lyrics and occassional screaming, this is the one for you. Their sound is so pure and original. You won't be dissatisfied with The Beautiful Mistake.

5/4/2003 by Rosemary from Surrey, United Kingdom Rating:
This record is pretty good. Its pretty much a generic emocore cd and it does hold it's own againt the competition. The main problem is this record is really overproduced. At times the drumming sounds all digital. This really subtracts from the songs making seem kinda emotionless. Anyway, not a bad cd. probably worth the money.
