$11.75

With the newly established lineup of Gavan Nelson (bassist), Jesse Fitts (drums), Matt Fuchs (guitar), and Mike Minnick (vocalist); the band constructed their first full length record, "Unfortunately, We're Not Robots." Recorded at God City Studios in Boston, MA, Kurt Ballou (Converge) and the boys of Curl Up And Die worked without cessation for nearly a month to perfect this masterpiece. This release finds the band blending together a wide array of influences from each individual member, varying from Neurosis, to Saves the Day, to Black Flag. The end result is a fervent and engaging piece of work, which should serve as a breath of fresh air in the often stagnant and insipid pool of metal-core hybrid bands.

This is probably one of the least disappointing Hardcore purcahses I have made in a while. When you get tired of wading through the endless amounts of Metalcore garbage, it is fucking refreshing to have a band like CUAD to blow you away.

5/7/2005 by Patrick from West Des Moines, IA Rating:
SO FUCKING GOOD.This cd is just the perfect hardcore album. The vocals are a little in-audible.So you can't always understand what he's saying with the lyrics. But the lyrics are just so good.Very cool. The song titles are fun.The guitar are just great. From blistering thrash to chest pounding metal riffage. This cd can be appealing for fans of any genre of aggresive music.Whether it's metal you enjoy or hardcore or punk. You will love this album. They never let up on speed and they're really raw.The softest track is track ten "You'd Be Cuter If I Shot You In The Face."But, it's hard to compare songs on here because they're all so fucking awesome.Buy this album.....NOW!

You think you know technical, spazzy metalcore? Not until you've heard this masterpiece from Curl Up And Die. It starts off with the 4 tracks making up "We Are All Dead" and doesn't let up until the 8-minute chunk of sweetness "You'd Be Cuter If I Shot You In The Face". Then the chaos resumes until the end of the disc. There's not one track one here that could be skipped over, each track is THAT good and THAT insane and should be listened to from beginning to end to get the full effect. Fans of Between The Buried And Me, Premonitions Of War, The Red Chord, Scarlet, A Life Once Lost, and Converge will eat this up. Buy ASAP. -Ben

Amazing shit right here. If you like Converge and or Dillinger you'll like these guys. Fast insane shit with the craziest song titles ever. Get it. Or die.

3/5/2004 by Gail from Brookfield, IL Rating:
Well, this album can't get any butter(haha butter, you can't make this stuff up). Anyways the music is great and the sreaming is as good as it can get. The guitar licks on the album are just rawesome and complicated, comparable to dillinger escape plan. I demand who ever reads this review to buy this album. If you don't, I'll personally do nothing to you until you buy it (I hope you can handle having me on your conscious because I'm a trickster I'm very tricky). And my name isn't Gail (not that you the person reading the review cares) but I'm actually a guy (John to be exact), believe it or not. Gail is just my MOMMY.

i hate metal. now that that has been said, i love this album.it not your older brother's metal. nor should it be your older brother's metal, cause i'm sure his taste in music sucks. none the less Curlupanddie have the hot brutal guitars and a bit of humor. sweet buy.

If you like really hard, fast, crazy, cant understand the singer, metalcore.... Then you will love this album. The vocals sound really repeative. The music is amazing.

Curl up and Die have easily become one of my favorite bands...his CD is hardcore...its fast as shit and if you dont like it dont get this...this is what it's all about...

3/1/2003 by Stuart from Dunstable, United Kingdom Rating:
What can I say about Curl Up And Die? Well, they're certainly not subtle! Absolutely brutal metalcore, it's hard to tell when one song ends and another one starts! It's essentially 35 minutes of pure angry noise (except for a few quieter moments in the middle), I'm not sure "music" is the correct term.

However, I still think it's a quality album, and I can just about make out "Ted Nugent Goes AOL" as the standout track, it's track 7 after about 3 minutes into the album! And depsite it being more noise than music, the musicianship is excellent, pounding drums and jagged guitars competing for attention with an excellent angry metalcore vocal.I think fans of Converge should buy this now, as they are very similar bands.
