This Record is NOT as good as Underoath's second record (They're Only Chasing Saftey). The singer is different but, it is still good but if you are choosing between the 1st and 2nd records choose the first. Underoath still rocks!

wow. the single best hardcore record ive ever heard, and im not kidding, its really that good. the synths are great, and the vocals, i love em, really raw, and thats the way the production sounds, without sounding cheap. i swear, anyone into hardcore at all will enjoy this piece of work.

wow idk wut to say about this cd..besides it frigun rawks...it's got energy...screaming...and a keyboard...it works...the christian hardcore scene is awesome... my buddy recomended this cd to me and i was thoroughly impressed im anxious for the new cd this summer..even though they have a new screamer it's bound to be good

All I can say is amazing, very few bands come close to Underoath. I bought this cd a long time ago from some Indie store, and I bought it again on Interpunk for my friends birthday. I gave her like 5 choices and told her to pick 3 and one of those 3 was underoath and I thought it was a must have for any screamo/hardcore collection. Its got the best mix of sounds. Peep the new cd June 16th, ive heard 2 songs from it, its not as hard but def. nothing short of amazing.

this is VERY nice music, screamo meets death metal i guess.. beautiful and extreme at the same time.. the first track is the best.. real screamo.. and a clear part which will make you cry... anyway, great album, check it out!

I saw the video for "When the Sun Sleeps" and liked it alot so I picked up the CD. I agree with some of the other reviews....sometimes they use the keyboards a tad too much. For fans of FATA, Poison the Well, and Inreverant Fear. Pretty good metalcore with emoish lyrics. The songs are pretty long too witch is a bonus.

Well I first saw these guys live in November '02 w/ Terror, Eighteen Visions and Throwdown... and had no clue who they were but I was blown away by their live set it was just breahtaking... Anyways I pretty much waited almost a year to pick this cd up...

Lemme just say THIS IS NOTHING like their first 2 cd's "An Act Of Depression" or "Cries Of The Past"... those are like death metal... This is still hardcore... but more melodic lots more keyboards, and more melody... The whole cd has a lyrical theme of love and heartbreak (which I'm any emokid would eat up LOL)... Dallas screams are so cathartic its such a good cd to listen to when you've had ur heart broken... The drummer sings also... My favorite songs are "When The Sun Sleeps", "Angel Below", "Alone In December", "Never Meant To Break Your Heart" and "Changing Of Times"...

I strongly suggest this if your into bands like From Autumn To Ashes, Poison The Well, Alexisonfire, and Beloved etc.

Try some old Underoath the lyrics are still all about love and loss... and the occasional reference to God lol... they are Christian afterall lol... but look past that... they fucking rule live!

8/20/2003 by Elizabeth from Aurora, CO Rating:
This cd is amazing! Great christain hardcore. The lead singer in this cd is no longer in the band, so it will be interesting to see what the upcoming releases will sound like. This cd is good for anyone that likes Dead Poetic, and any other Solid State or hardcore fan.

7/23/2003 by Lisa from Allen, TX Rating:
one of the better jesus core bands out there. actually, jesus has nothing to do with it, i'm just joking. this cd is awesome. imagine an emo soilwork with jake from converge on vocals. "when the sun sleeps" owns. i didn't like this at first, but it grows on you. buy it, you'll see.

7/9/2003 by Patrick from West Des Moines, IA Rating:
Very good album. This band has sweet lyrics, great heavy guitars, awesome double kicker drums, cool electronic. One flaw in my opinion are the vocals, the way this guy screams is kinda irritating and gets kinda repetetive. But all in all, its a cool cd.
