The Illusion Of Safety

Sub City 21

Released on February 5, 2002

Thrice is an anomaly; a sublime conglomeration of kick-ass, blood-pumping music, combined with the lyrical phrasing of a literary wordsmith. Their powerful, driving beats and buzz-saw riffs will literally leave you covered with goose bumps, and their melodic hooks and pensive lyrics will dare you to look inward.

This is an awesome CD. There isn't one bad song on here.. in fact, I don't even think there is a bad Thrice song on any CD. Their lyrics are amazing, and the guitar is sooo good. I don't think I could ever get sick of this band.. or this CD. Get it now!

The best thrice album to date. Wonderful guitar riffs and melodies. Songs like "see you in the shallows" and "deadbolt" are amazing. It's too bad that The Artist in the Ambulance sucked so much, then maybe I'd consider seeing Thrice live again.

I bought this on CD about a year ago and i recently purchased it on LP just to have it on LP. That should tell you how much i like this album. it is probably one of the best if not the best cd i have. every single song is good from the beginning guitars of "kill me quickly" to the end of "the beltsville crucible". this record is absolutely amazing and thrice is an amazing band. this is the best thrice release so far even though the artist in the ambulance and identity crisis are also both very good. i would suggest you to buy this record first if you are just getting into thrice. 5 stars.

This album has really been growing on me... It's right up there for album of the year for 2002, right up there with Taking Back Sunday - Tell All...

Yeah I would buy it.

i highly recomend this album to anyone interested in hardcore or emo. the band probably hates being called emo, but its definately emotional music. with plenty of loud up front vocals to contend with such songs as "kill me quickly" and "the red death" this is a must have for ne thrice fan or anyone else who likes hardcore.
