Ozma

Rock And Roll Part Three

Kung Fu 78787

Released on August 21, 2001

$10.75

After selling over 4,000 copies on their own of what can justifiably be called a true indie masterpiece, Kung Fu Records is proud to release the album that started it all in a completely re-mastered form, with expanded packaging and enhanced CD features. Some say, "hey this sounds like Weezer." We say, "if you must make that comparison then think of them as a younger, cuter, Weezer; without the baggage." These guys (and one girl- the lovely Star Wick on keyboard) call it power pop-geek rock and have written some of the best songs written by anyone, anywhere, at anytime.

Very good cd. I recomend it to aeveryone. It has a similar sound to weezer. The keyboard adds nice depth to them as well. Can't wait to listen to there other stuff

I first fell in love with Ozma when I heard them on "Punk Rock is Your Friend" (Vol. 1 from Kung Fu records). I downloaded a few songs and was ecstatic at the greatness of their greatness. All my favorite by Ozma are on this CD. Battlescars, Shooting Stars, and Apple Trees are three of my favorite favorites. For a good pop-punk band with a hot chick on keyboards, definitely check out Ozma.

This is just a fun album. Fans of early weezer, the travoltas and just fun, innocent, catchy, upbeat music will enjoy. This is MUCH MUCH better than the new album which lacks all of this album's energy and pop hooks. Ozma isn't reinventing music by any means or doing anything new, which is why i give it 3 stars. truly it is more like 3.5 stars. but everyone on this site gives 5 stars to everything and i try to be more discerning than that.

pretty good cd. not one of my favorites, and i can't say that i listen to it terriblely often. i bet a lot of weezer fans would really enjoy this, and its very catchy, but it's just not my favorite type of music.

a must for weezer and that dog fans though =w=

When one of my friends told me about this band and this album, he said "this is the CD Weezer ahould have written instead of the Green album," and I totally agree. They dont sound like Weezer ripoffs, but they're definitely similar in style. This is a cute, fun, easy to listen to CD. And there's a chick in the band! So buy this!

This is a pretty cute cd. The whole cd is very emo and happy. If you're a Weezer fan, you'll love their adorable lyrics about love, etc. Not the best cd in the world, but a very fun band to see live. Go see them at Warped Tour, they're a fun bunch.

this cd is one of the best cds i have heard in a LONG time. if you like weezer, you will defintely love this cd. RRP3 reminds me of pinkerton a bit. "apple trees" is a favourite of mine. very clever lyrics. an apple pie/the number pi/i studied you in math class/i did all my work/but never got your digits. i highly recommend this cd to anybody. even my "weezer is shit on a stick" boyfriend loves ozma. you will too!

AWESOME If you like weezer you'll love ozma. Personally I think that his vocals are better then rivers (lead singer of weezer) Favorite songs are battlescars, rocks, and in search of 1988 Brandon recomends this cd for studying or making out!

Crashing choruses and soft, well thought verses abound as these 5 rockers out of California whip though each of the 11 tracks. Not to make them sound as though they are anything but the purest of rock and roll, yet at times it feels as though one could actually imagine that a real person wrote each song. From the brillance of Baseball and Apple Trees to the floored excitement of Rocks/In Search of 1988 they each pack their own punch. And once you take in Battlescars for the first time you will never want to go back to anything mainstream again. Each tune holds its own and they deserve accolades for doing what they loved while giving us just a glimpse.
