Black Spring formed in 2000 in Austin, TX, under the name Suburban Terror Project. The band toured regionally and nationally and underwent several lineup changes along the way, including members of Texas bands The Rise, Exit the King, Blunt Force Trauma, Sap, The Nimoys, These Men Are Liars, and several others. In 2004 Suburban Terror Project changed its name to Black Spring and recorded the present album, Dagger Poems. While the band had previously produced several self-released efforts, Dagger Poems represents the culmination and epitome of Black Spring's career, including revised and improved renderings of several of the band's previously-recorded songs. Black Spring disbanded in early 2005 before the album could be released.
