| Well I don't know what that last asshole is talking about, but this cd is great. I'm not so good at writing, but if your read Joe's review, he got it. Great songs from a great musician. Lind's creating some really good stuff here, so do your self a favor and pick this up! I can't wait to hear what comes next |

| Remember that part in Billy Madison where he's having a graduation party and that really shitty band is playing. That's what this sounds like but acoustic, and serious. Seriously, that the fuck did I just listen to? Wanna know what this cd sounds like? The shitty 80's Metal ballads gone acoustic. Worst cd i've heard this fucking year. |

| Having listened to Mark Lind for a third of my life, I can say that is his strongest release to date. Compulsive Fuck Up is a collection of songs that are a simple reflection of Mark’s life. His tunes are simple, yet with a catchy melody. And the lyrics on the release are incredibly real and honest. That’s what really hit’s home with me. I’ve always been able to relate to Mark’s lyrics, but much more so on this release. Everyone has up’s and down’s and Compulsive Fuck Up is just a documentation of a down in one man’s life. He took what he knew, what he was living, and simply put it out there for anyone to listen to. And after the first song, you’ll want to hear the rest of it. And after that, you’ll want to listen to it again and again. Compulsive Fuck Up, from start to finish, is amazing. Highly recommended for anyone that doesn’t pigeonhole music and is looking for something real. |

| I have yet to be disappointed by any work Mark Lind has done. Whether it be a Ducky Boys release, Sinners and Saints, Dirty Water or his solo material, he keeps impressing. This is sure to be one of the most underrated releases for 07. I don't think i've ever listened to an artist that hits home so well in the way Mark does. The lyrics are just about as real as you can get. No sugar-coating on this cd, just simple and to the point, the way it should be. "Everything falls apart" was probably my favorite although "what about love?" will keep your feet stompin and hands clappin. The bonus track completes the album with a live set covering some classics like "better days", "tortured soul", and "are you dying." Do yourself and Mark a favor, buy this cd. |

| I have been a fan of Mark Lind's since I first got into punk, whether it be when he was with The Ducky Boys, Dirty Water, Sinners & Saints, his playing on Far From Finished's albums, or when he did his first solo record. However, of all the cds I own featuring Mark Lind either in a lead role or just as a "session" player (which is 10+ at this point) none of his albums have affected me like "Compulsive Fuck Up." This is the album that I relate to the most. I almost feel like Mark wrote this album to be the soundtrack of my life. The songs are full of what Mark has always been the best at, telling the truth about his life. They're not always pretty and on this album, they're depressing. That, however, does not take away from the powerful emotions conveyed in this album. Mark isn't gonna BS you with any of his music...and for that I am thankful. No matter what he may say, he is a very talented performer/singer/songwriter and deserves all the praise and rewards that come along with it. This EP just makes me want another release from him as soon as possible. Keep up the good work Mark. |

| so where to begin by far best self released cd ever packaging was top notch music was even better Mark Lind is Genius right up there with joe strummer elliott smith and john lennon music is simple but thought provoking makes you thing about your life by far his best release and im lookin forward for future releases i was not disappointed and you wont either the live track at the end will surprise you to.

| For $6 you really can't go wrong with this cd. It is not perfect by any means, but then again what is these days? There are six brand new songs written and performed by Mark with a formidable backing cast as well as a live acoustic set from the Abbey Lounge in Somerville, MA. The live set features segments of Ducky Boys, Dirty Water, and Lind Solo songs including "Better Days," "Celebrate," "Tortured Soul," "Are You Dying?" and "Crumbling Heart."
Mark puts his heart and self in his music and lyrics, and I know that his fans will appreciate that. This cd is a reflection of Mark during a not so happy time of his life and he shares a piece of himself through the music. The overtone is pretty down in the dumps, but again its just honesty. If you are looking for an upbeat, catchy, punk album this isn't for you. If you are looking for an honest, down to earth rock cd, from the soul I suggest you buy this CD. Help support the cause, this album isn't released on any record label, just independently through the artist. |

| I have been a "fan" of Mark Lind's music since 1999 when I bought "Dark Days" from The Ducky Boys and with each release his song writing keeps getting better. If you are a fan of No Gettin Out from the Ducky Boys and think that is his best work, this is not for you. The latest EP from Mr. Lind is mature, catchy and simple. Compulsive Fuck Up is a very moody and sincere release. Mark's lyrics are depressing at times yet easy to relate to. If you picked up Death or Jail (his last solo album) then this is an extension of that side of Mark obviously. The music is much darker and less "upbeat" but the hooks are amazing and you will catch your self singing the songs after the first or second listen. If there has to be that unavoidable comparison that people must have then I would say take the acoustic side of Bruce Springsteen with the catchiness of the Beatles with the lyrics of Lennon/Billy Joel (Piano Man era) and I mean these in the best possible way. Mark has crossed into uncharted territory with this release to where I would have to label him as a “Classic Punk Rock Singer/Songwriter”. Although I am only one year away from 30 years old I cannot see how you younger kids wouldn’t enjoy this. Each song is sung from the gut with Mark wearing his heart on his sleeve. For a completely DIY release, you will not find anything worth your $6 like this. Great songs, good raw production and solid packaging. Mark hit it right with this release and I am already looking forward to the next release. Highlights for this release are “Everything Falls Apart” which is the best song Mark has written and “On the Outside.” Definitely a 5 out of a 5. – Brian Kenyon |
