New vocalist, new label, new album. After their first album UNSOUND (Supspect Records / SPV) and their EP Arson Architecture (DIY) the five Austrians ESTATE now call attention to their second longplayer THE OPPOSITE OF INDIFFERENCE.
Recorded in their own sound studio, mixed and mastered in Germany‘s famous Principal Studios in Munster (Waterdown, In Extremo, Caliban, H-Blockx…), the new album will be released on 09.01.06 (GER/AT/S) by RECORD OF THE YEAR (Berlin).
THE OPPOSITE OF INDIFFERENCE deals with high-qualtity Screamo / Hardcore at international first-class. ESTATE combines straight rhythms and structures, heavy yet playful riffing with both catchy singing and emotional screaming without losing their unmistakable individuality.
ESTATE - Austrian Hardcore at it‘s best.

| Estate have really brought punk-hardcore-screamo to another level with this album, or should I say masterpiece. Some hints of metal are even present, with the heavy guitar sound they have. Unlike your typical american style screamo, these guys know how to structure their songs and you can tell that there's a special feeling in the music. In Austria, the scene looks like it's becoming bigger and bigger with the emergence of such great bands (i.e. Ephen Rian, Red Lights Flash, Rentokill, Never Been Famous). With a line-up like that it has to make a country feel proud and makes everyone else around curious. You can also tell that the bands from that country all support/help each other. Going back to the album, it offers a lot of diversity with the clean and screamo vocals, both styles being top notch quality singing. Production wise, everything is crisp/clean and it's awesome that they recorded in their own studio. It makes it more special I find. Songwise, I'd have to say that "Kafka On The Shore" is one to look out for. Every song has something special but that one in particular is the type which you'll want to hear every time. With this album you can tell that big things are bound to happen with Estate. |
