Ryan's Hope - Trials Of Recession
Ryan's Hope

Trials Of Recession

Double Zero 20

Released on February 14, 2004

Sorry, but this item is no longer available

The Trials Of Recession is the debut full-length from chicago punk band Ryan's Hope. This 11 track effort was released in early 2004 on Double Zero Records, the label formerly owned by Mike Felumlee, who played drums for chicago legends The Smoking Popes and the Alkaline Trio. The album showcases the trios' ability to combine the intensity and aggression of hardcore with the appeal and accessibility of punk rock with there signature stripped down, honest brand of rock.

This is just a dead set awesome album. Ryan's Hope are now one of my new favourite bands, I just wish I found out about them earlier. They blend styles together such as melodic punk, rock, hardcore seamlessly throughout all of their songs. A notcieable Living End influence also helps here. A VERY high recommendation of this band.

The Best songs are tracks 10, 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9

If you get this definately get Apocalypse In Increments as I feel its marginally better.

First off, the vocals are kick ass on this record. They are perfect for this hard melodic style. They remind me at times of A Wilhelm Scream and being a 3 piece also is awesome. I can't wait for their new record this year on Punk News Recs. Tracks sound awesome already and the production is already way better.
