DISTRICT are back....and more lively than ever! After it became a little quiet around these Punk Rockers from the Ruhr Area (Germany) in the past few years, they´re back on the map now with their furious "My Babies number" 7inch on People Like You Records, and finally their debut album "Don`t mess with the hard punks".
Like on their EP releases and especially on their Split LP/CD with the BAD NEWS from 1998 they are still flirting with all varieties of Punk (and) Rock music without loosing the significant DISTRICT style, mainly due to their very own sense of humour and the unique voice of lead singer Marc Ader (which is also playing guitar and doing vocal parts for THE REVOLVERS). he is comparable only to bands like the BUZZCOCKS, THE UNDERTONES or COCK SPARRER.
Now their songs might have become more melodic, the attitude is still "punk as fuck" and if DISTRICT sound a bit more "British" than other bands from the continent, this could be not least because of the english origins of guitarist and songwriter Pascal Briggs (vocalist of PUBLIC TOYS).
If they were the Punk Rock insiders` tip in the past already (despite the permanent changing of band members and their rather scarce releases and live appearances), now, with a steady line up and label, all the doors seem to be open ...´cause regardless of the bands history of several years and it´s members` experiences in top Punk Rock outfits like THE REVOLVERS or the PUBLIC TOYS their average age is not thirty yet and the motto is:
THE FUTURE IS UNWRITTEN .
