In 1997, some Billy Liar and PN members felt the need to start up a punkrockband. Not just another punkrockband, but a combo with something to say and the sheer force to rock out at any occasion. Homer was born and shortly after they started playing gigs all over Belgium and the north of France. At the end of that very same year, a split cd with fellow musicians Billy Liar was released (the first Funtime release). This split cd quickly sold out and we continued our quest for melancholic punkrocktunes by writing new material and playing live with bands like Travoltas, Whippersnapper, Undeclinable, Venerea, Down By Law, No Fun At All, Diesel Boy, Chixdiggit, Liberator, Janez Detd… to name a few. We were part of some compilations in and outside Belgium, like the ‘Punk Parade cd’ (Germany) or ‘Elements cd’ (Belgium). In 2001 we started recording our first debut album ‘Painting Memories’ at Dé Studio in Asse and it was released by Funtime Records. Next step was the recording of three songs in the spring of 2002 for a split cd with Buckle Up. This split was released on Rearviewmirror (Funtime distributed label) at the end of September 2002. Right after the release of this split cd, long-time bass player Bram decided to leave the band and we immediately started searching for someone to do the job. Mattias Vos from Starf*cker, a long-time friend, was happy to join in and from then on we started writing a whole new collection of songs. In December of 2004, we headed for Dé Studio in Asse to start recoding our new album, released by Funtime Records. Right now, we are presenting our second full length ‘The Punkrock Verses’. With this cd we’ve put our heart and soul into the ‘melodic hardcore’ we play…more than ever before. The distinctive emotional side didn’t disappear, but the overall feeling is way more energetic and aggressive, using screams and chaotic breaks from time to time. In a world that’s full of consumerism, materialism and egocentrism, this is our tribute to music that has something to say…our tribute to punkrock 2005!

9/17/2006 by Marc from Orleans, ON Canada Rating:
This is an awesome melodic hardcore cd. The first thing you notice is the contrast between the vocals. You hear the main vocalist with his smooth voice and at times you hear the back vocals, the screams. That brings much variety to their music. Having the album recorded at Dé Studio again really helps since everything is gold! All the songs are just plain simple good punk rock. The last songs even features a bit of french lyrics which is pretty wicked. It reminded me that Belgium is french in the South. Best song is "Economy Is Our New World Order."
