Voodoo Glow Skulls/Left Alone - Split
This is the 3rd split cd in the series on Smelvis Records. Left Alone open up with 2 new songs from their new album due out cinco de mayo 2004. LOS Voodoo Glow Skulls bring the house down with 2 covers(old school mexican songs) and their horn blasting mayhem. This CD is a must for all ska punkers.

This is a fun split. The reason i got this was because it has two Voodoo Glow Skulls songs i did not acquire yet. They put a fun twist on those traditional mexican folk songs and i enjoyed them very much. I was looking foward to hearing Left Alone, for i have never experienced their music before, but sadly i was dissapionted. Maybe i'm close minded, but it was very mediocre. Not bad, but not outstanding. As for the Voodoo Glow Skulls, very outstanding. Definatley worth the money.

Both bands on this split kick ass! My only beef is that the album is WAY TOO SHORT. Also, the two Left Alone songs show up on the band's Hellcat debut. VGS delivers traditional Mexican tunes that are sure to please. Well worth 5 bucks.

Hey Ho,this is a review for La Raza man,a split from a pretty underground band from LA I guess with a strong fan-base in Mexico, specially in Tijuas an Chicali 90210,the Left Alone songs are cool,2 chord songs with one string solo, jaja that's funny that part of the split is good, and let's get to the al mighty Voodoo Glow Skulls that covered two of the most notorious songs of the Mexican Ranchera Culture,Alla en El Rancho Grande,ke hiciera famosa el buen tito Guizar en una movie, and Cielito Lindo(if you don't know this song, even if you're mexican or not,you can fuck off!) anygu eys I love the songs, but Cielito Lindo was not that great, maybe good to put it on a party and get drunk with your morrita un lado but that's it,but Rancho Grande was fucken great, even the songs are not new, they appeared back in the days like in 98 as outtakes is still worthy to buy this record, mmmm we're waitin' for the VGS right here in Mexicali so I hope to listen to that RAncho Grande song por aca, later and buy the split pendejos, cuz get's outta print so fucken fast
