Have you ever had a concussion? ...and you get all light-headed and fruity, but you know that something in the room just hit you really hard? That's the best way to describe "Splosion!" It's amazing, ironic tech-violence in the vein of the Locust and Dillinger Escape Plan. Treat yourself to a good time.

Kickass ultra-technical tech metal/mathcore... whatever the genre is, it's awesome. Behold the Fuck Thunder is more "straightforward" (which I use in the loosest terms of the definition,) and I'd say this one is sloppier... so both albums kick ass in their own unique ways. Don't choose between two good things... take both!

In my opinion, this is a landmark album. Everything sounds warped and cartoony while still being grindy. Sort of like a less dark, more upbeat As the Sun Sets. It draws on 90's indie rock and old school screamo a lot more than most bands in this genre. At times you even hear funk riffs. It's a really patchwork sound, that flows really well and never seems like it's overreaching. Imagine busting out of a mental asylum on shrooms and you'll get a pretty good idea of how this sounds. This album isn't nearly as technical or mature in song structure as "Behold the Fuck Thunder", but even so I think this is their best work. You'll find that this CD displays the scope of their range more than the follow up. I would suggest starting here. The Great Redneck Hope will not disappoint.

I love hardcore/metal like this. While most metal bands today are focasing on being "brutal" this band takes a little different route and still brings the kick ass. It's pretty short like a lot of albums in this genre but as the old saying goes, quality over quantity.I can't really describe why they are different from a lot of metal acts but they just are, take my word for it.

Not as good as Behold The Fuck Thunder. Still good. I like it. Artwork is real good too.

Gave this one listen and have not heard it again.

It may or may not be a good CD, but I personally do not like this style. Not what I expected, but that doesn't mean it's not good.

If you like crazy noise-core scream scream roar bands, you might like this.

Splosion! is an awesome Grindcore album with pounding guitars and a singer that wails while having simulared sex with a giant inflatable frankenstein. This album isn't as good as their follow up "Behold the Fuck Thunder", but is definetly worth getting. Its great to blast this while yelling and waiting in traffic, you get some pretty concerned looks.

This cd is pretty sweet. Super fast. Super short. Super sarcastic. Super funny song titles. Pretty decent album, but nothing spectacular. Think Converge meets Curl Up And Die - but waaaaaaaaaay faster. I personally like tracks 3 and 8 the best. I got the new album too, but haven't really listened to it yet. Why did I put that in the review? Well ... I'm an idiot.

The Great Redneck Hope is a splendid display of grind, noise, math, tech, or whatever you want to label them. Decent sound quality, and a good album overall, but like most albums in this genre, it is very short. However, if you want something loud and fast, try this out. Recommend If You like: The Sawtooth Grin or Daughters.

Fucking great CD. Such a perfectly engineered piece of work. Only 12 minutes long but intense as hell. Chaos NEVER sounded this good. Buy it.....NOW.
