Skunk Ape 5

Released on April 16, 2002

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Hooks-a-plenty, melody to boot and harmonies that sooth the most troubled of souls, Wheelie rocks hard and rocks well. The musical roots of this band are quite deep (ramones, beach boys, nirvana, beatles, weezer). However, lending from their favorites, they have developed an original sound: something familiar, yet something new. Thick and fuzzy guitars, solid rhythm section, great melodies and counter balanced harmonies. Wheelie is what rock/pop is. More than hard enough to be rock, melodic enough to be pop.

Once in a while i like to take a risk and buy a new and unknown popish band to see how they sound like. Like if i had a craving for sugar or something like that. Well i won't say it worth the try, but they don't suck neither. They sound like a poor version of latest Weezer. I know it's not too much. If they are not yet disbanded i'd say they could do greater things. Maybe something more personal, who knows.
