Hepcat's classic debut, originally released in 1993. Unlike most bands of the third-wave ska revival Hepcat's music does not have much influence from the British second wave. Instead the group focuses entirely on Studio 1 influenced ska bearing a strong resemblance to artists such as the Skatalites, Toots and the Maytalls, and early Wailers.
This album contains the catchy vocal tracks "Dance Wid' Me," "Hooligans," and "Prison of Love." In addition, there are also numerous instrumentals, the best of which include "Caravan (Skaravan)," a remake of the Duke Ellington classic, and "Train to Skaville." An essential album for fans of the band and neo-traditional ska, it lays the foundation for the success the group had with their 1998 Hellcat Records release Right on Time.

| One of my favorite bands. This is the band's first album, but it sounds just as developed and as good as their later stuff. This is a very good thing, as most of their work is incredible also. I'd even say that Hepcat is the best Ska band at the present time. No other band can play original ska sounds quite as good as these guys. |

| Cant top of Hepcat. I agree they are a damn good 3rd wave ska band with the orignal first wave sound. I was lucky enough to see them live and I was stunned by the performance. This cd always puts you in a good mood and et up and do some skankin especially the track "All For You." Enough said start getting into hepcat with this album and see them live when you get the chance. |

| A ska classic. Tunes that will make anybody get up and skank to the slow ska sound of this album. You can't like ska and not have this album. Hepcat is easily one of the best 3rd wave bands playing that 1st wave sound. |

| Really good first wave ska, if you like the Gadjits, The Specials, the Skatalites, you will like this. It is Hepcat's first cd, and I think it is their best. Buy it, and then skank your ass off. |

| A mi entender,este es el primer trabajo de Hepcat; y definitivamente el mejor. A partir deste disco es que se inicio en mi la idea de seguirlos, de estar pendiente a sus producciones. La musica ska en este disco esta fuertemente influenciada por el ska jamaiquino de los '60. Aqui no encontraras nada de ska-punk ni ritmos 2-Tones, sino un buen jazz y ritmos sincopados. La musica de Hepcat esta tan bien que a mucha gente fuera de esta escena consideran interesante este disco, me preguntan extrañados que agrupacion es, incluso que genero musical es. La cancion Skavez es genial. Llevaba años tratando de conseguir este album en CD pues lo tenia en cassette. Agradezco a Hellcat Records por haber re-editado esta joya del ska. |

| This is not punk, or ska-punk, or ska-core or any other hyphenated sub genre you can think of. It's pure. Purest CD I own. There's two extra songs after club meditation. they're not as good as the rest of the album. I love the piano and 2 saxes. Come to think of it there isnt anything I dont love about the album. I supose you can't really air guitar or air drum to it but apart from that there's absalouly nothing I dont love. There's no lyric book, but you don't realy need one and instead you get history on the band and the songs. The best songs are the instrumentals and prison of love and all for you. Train to skaville isn't a cover of the ethiopians version. But it's not punk so listen to some mp3s or something if you don't want to take a risk. Damn it I didnt mean to write that much I'm sorry if it was an inconvenience. |
