This is Shudder To Think’s first full-length album, originally released on LP in 1988, now being reissued on CD for the first time. Shudder To Think released their first 7”, “It Was Arson,” and their first full-length on Sammich in 1988. After several line up changes Shudder To Think went on become one of DC’s longest running bands, releasing 3 more full-length albums on Dischord Records before moving to NYC and releasing 2 more full-length albums on Epic. Sammich was a label founded by Amanda MacKaye and Eli Janney and was most active from 1986-1990 with releases from bands like Soul Side, Shudder To Think and Swiz.

| Oh shit, the first Shudder album. This one actually seems a little more focused and inspired than some of their better works. This is real emo. If you like Rites or Embrace or The Faith and so on and want something that's the same but so much different buy this shit. The only thing that it's missing is the vibrato acrobatics that Wedren is known for, yet this is my favorite Shudder album vocal-wise, go figure. The albums I've listened to prior to this were as followed : Funeral at The Movies, Ten Spot, Get Your Goat, Pony Express Record, 50,000 BC and even the new Wedren solo album which isn't half-bad. Aiight that concludes. |
