Bloomington, Indiana's Murder By Death is part horror movie climax, part western barroom brawl, and a dash of wintery and ambling layers reminiscent of the Cure. Their sophomore album, "Who Will Survive and What Will Be Left of Them", is being described in hushed tones as one of the most innovative and well executed records of the year.

Wasn't to sure what i was getting into when i got this cd , but i have to say all the songs are catchy and written well. They are one of the best bands out there. From start to finish , its just a great story. Also check out there frist cd.

beautiful violins, airy voice. these aspects just boosts the sound MBD are trying to make. think smoky saloon somewhere in the wild west. think... then press play. youll drift there faster than i can say flapjack. a 3 because there is one or two boring songs

8/11/2005 by Aaron from Mesa, AZ Rating:
OOOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! This album is a fucking masterpiece. The songwriting is so well thought out and sad, catchy and rough at the same time. Imagine if Cursive drank a bottle of whiskey and impregnated Against Me! with their love child. This album crosses a lot of borders and will appeal to a lot of different musical tastes spanning from emo (yes, most emo sucks nowadays, but there are a select few who stay true to the original formula that didn't suck) to Pink Floyd to folk punk. There's a little something here for everyone. I'll bet even hardcore kids who beat up Cursive fans could find something to like on here.

Nothing short of a perfect record. Being a huge fan of horror movies doesn't hurt when listening to this cd. It almost feel's unnatural to skip tracks because it's as if you skip a scene in a movie, yeah it's that amazing and intricate. You all know the story, Devil in a western town. All around amazing musicians, particularly the cello player, as good or maybe even better then the cello player from Cursive(if you like this cd you should buy The Ugly Organ) Killbot2000 is probably the catchiest song but A Master in Reverse Pshycology has got to be the best. A must have for any one who loves good music.

6/6/2004 by Nick from Chicago, IL Rating:
I suppose I didn't really know what I was getting into with this CD. I bought it at the same time as Cursive's Ugly Organ, figuring I'd get me some rock with cellos in it, because rock is always better with cellos. Maybe the single didn't convey this to me, but this album has a lot of country influence. And not in the terrible 'How I found Jesus in my Cigarettes' kinda way. This is so country that most of these songs mention living on a diet of whiskey and stale bread. It rocks at times, and it softens and lets the celloist take the stage sometimes, but often these great moments follow two minutes of awkward buildup that takes some getting used to. The singer's voice is another interesting facet. In the single, he has little noticable accent, but on the rest of the tracks he lets it out a lot more, which may surprise you at first. But once you adjust to the unexpected, this is a great CD.

5/23/2004 by James from Andover, United Kingdom Rating:
Starts off really well, first 3 tracks are great..then it all starts to plod a bit, don't get me wrong its nice plodding in the style of Cursive, but it's nothing you havent heard before. If you like Cursive check it out, definately. Also features guest vocals from Gerard Way on track 1 and Geoff Rickly on track 2 (not that you can hear Geoff's input in the slightest!)

bascially, i'm only writing this review to pay out all the morons who gave this album a bad rating because it's "not punk". you fucking mongers, this is one of the most brilliant, original albums of the year. if you can't at least appreciate it in some small way, it probably means you have a hearing disorder. you do, however, require an attention span of more than 30 seconds to truly enjoy this album, so maybe that's the problem. lay off the sugar, children. one guy below me said that this CD was emo. EMO?? do you even have any idea what emo is?? (here's a hint, it's not Dashboard) if anyone here is retarded, it's you!

5/7/2004 by Patrick from Urbandale, IA Rating:
O.k. I mostly listen to metal, punk and rock 'n' roll. But, lately I've been getting into emo. Dashboard Confessional, Vendetta Red, bands like that. I first heard of this band while shopping for cds at my local Hot Topic. I decided not to buy it at that time because I already made my selections and didn't want to spent anymore money then I already had. But, I promised myself I would keep them in mind. When I read all the great reviews on interpunk. I decided to buy it. FUCK ME! This cd is fucking amazing. I don't know quite how to explain it. It's rock with piano, violin and cello. It kinda has a country/rock sound with a saloon style piano. The lyrics are original as well as the song titles. It has a little bit of everything for everybody. If you only make one purchase today, make it this one. You won't regret it. Buy it now dammit.

5/6/2004 by Dusty from Dansville, NY Rating:
Postives.........uh..uh... Negetives Its slow,Every song sounds the same, It's got western/country style to it ( How are these guys punk) It's emo and emo sucks. Tried something new and it blew up in my face. Buy it if your into country or half retarted.
