After a glowing recommendation from the guy who was doing one of my tattoos, I decided to buy this album and see what the US Bombs were all about. At first listen, nothing really grabbed me, but I decided to give it another try. I was even less impressed the second time around. This is a band that does the bare minimum. Basic, boring rythyms, repetitive chord progressions, and sloppy vocals that sound like the singer is as bored as he's making me. Not knowing how to create well-crafted music is not a requirement for punk rock. If you're going to bother to play music, there is just no excuse for such bland mediocrity. Everything the US Bombs do musically has already been done better by someone else. The lyrics are another cause for complaint; indirect, confused-sounding ranting with no concise points dominate, punctuated by a real punker-than-thou attitude in at least one song that really fucking pisses me off. Worry about your own ass and who you are as a human being instead of sitting around passing judgement on who's punk enough and who isn't. Fucking pathetic. And as if that wasn't enough, they actually devote a song to bashing Billy Idol. What the fuck is that about? With all the things in this world and in pop culture that are good causes for righteous anger, you're gonna waste time bitching about Billy fucking Idol? All in all, my plans for this CD are to take it to my local record shop and exchange it for a copy of Billy Idol's greatest hits. Rebel yell, motherfucker.

This is really good. Almost as good as big brother magazine, the funniest magazine ever. All the bodies is one of the greatest songs ever.

this is another good us bombs cd. they sound alot like the sex pistols in a few areas. duane peters sounds so much like johnny rotten, minus the accent. i would call this a modern day sex pistol sound alike. definitely a great cd.
