New Mexican Disaster Squad - New Mexican Disaster Squad
Orlando's NEW MEXICAN DISASTER SQUAD have spent the past five years perfecting their sound, a mix of early 80's hardcore with the aggression of contemporary punk rock. During last year's "Mobilize For Peace" tour, Thomas from STRIKE ANYWHERE recommended NEW MEXICAN DISASTER SQUAD to A-F as one of his favorite unsigned bands. After hearing their demo, A-F wholeheartedly agreed and signed NEW MEXICAN DISASTER SQUAD.

Kind of dissapointing. The lyrics were kind of pointless and the passion was not there. Overall this cd was average and nothing great, just the same old.

NMDS are so under rated. I think the fact that this album came out on AF Records put off a bunch of people who might otherwise be into them. This record is their best work, in my opinion. Fast, angry and melodic hardcore punk with tons of influence from the 80s. The vocalist sounds kinda similar to Russ from Good Riddance. The best tracks are "Don't Say It At All" and "Fuck The Oscars."

I love these guys, this has been a great year for a return to 80's Style Hardcore, with these guys and Paint It Black. You should definitely pick up this CD, it is definitely worth the money.
