A fully realized concept album inspired by the suicide of a close friend of Mars Volta founders, De-Loused in the Comatorium's narrative consists of fantastic worlds and adventures that Cedric imagines the friend experiencing while in a coma following an unsuccessful suicide attempt. Although the story ends tragically, the creators insist that this is a celebration of the adventurous and daring life that their friend lived.

If you have heard this, then you will most likely agree that this is an incredibly fun and clever cd. You can definilty hear the genius of At the Drive-in coming through on this album.

Sounds like at the drive-in if they started smoking lots of umm....tomatoes....er somthing. Anyways, kinda trippy, good instraumental, omar and cedrik still rock though

2/24/2005 by Bruce from Lovettsville, VA Rating:

This cd sucks ass. It's total hippy, weirdo, alien music. I kinda like at the drive in, and thats their singer sings for this band, but it sucks.

6/6/2004 by Paul from Fairfax, VA Rating:
complex riffs mixed with amazing vocals make this cd one of my favorites in my collection. it's amazing how much work these guys put in this record. it is definately a must for fans of at the drive-in, sparta, or basically any rock music fans. get this - flea and john from red hot peppers play on some of the songs, so if you're a fan of the peppers, buy this!!!

4/21/2004 by Mike from Santa Cruz, CA Rating:
One of my favorite albums now. There is just the perfect balance of rock, electronic, hard, and soft parts. Cedric's voice sounds totally different than it did in AtDI.. He really goes nuts for The Mars Volta, and I like it.
