When you think of bands hailing from our neighbors to the north, Canada, who comes to mind? Rush, Nickelback? Alanis? Barenaked Ladies? Although all commercially successful, they don't share more in common with bands like Taking Back Sunday and the Get Up Kids. Having toured with the two aforementioned bands, Moneen have already begun to cultivate pockets of fans around the US. Armed with an album filled with gorgeous harmonies, major rock breakdowns, and jam sessions, Moneen are ready to hit the road and you won't want to miss their high-energy live show!

il go THREE AND A HALF stars here. I heard red tree before this, which is alot more solid, so this wasnt as good as i imagined. saying that its definitely worth a regular listen if u like the more progressive kinda side of punk. moneen are very passionate and give it everything, and they are fucking AMAZING live.

get this and red tree.

jesus. this band has more talent than you can shake a stick at. i have seen them live twice and haven't been dissappointed yet. their songs are full of realism and energy alike. i have been on top of the punk-pop-scene for two years, as well as a little of the hardocre scence.....but let me assure you that once you listen to this record 5 times, you will realize that these gentlemen will soon rule the freakin' world.

I got this cd like a year ago when it first came out and saw I only had a few days left to review it, so I figured i would since I have listened to it many times. I just saw these guys live the other day, and they are one of the best live bands I have ever seen. So much energy it was out of control. The band does have some similar sounds to the Taking Back Sundays of the world but they are much better. This is a perfect cd to put on during a long drive with the windows down and the volume up. Full of energy and passion. Enjoy it.

11/27/2003 by Tom from Newtown, PA Rating:
Incredible, incredible release. Moneen's music soars above the normal 3-chord emo and dominates. Every song on this cd is worth the purchase alone. Just wait, these guys will be BIG in a couple of years...

11/16/2003 by Eric from Leesburg, VA Rating:
Moneen come out of nowhere with a CD full of enough catchy hooks to get your mom rockin' out. Straight outta Canada, Moneen's music is intense and melodic. For any fans of Taking Back Sunday, Saves the Day or The Movielife. I'm hooked on the first (and title) track on this CD.

8/19/2003 by Dan from Fpo, AE Rating:
Moneen is the saving face to rock n' roll! I cannot get enough of their music. The endings to the songs are incredable...you'll have them stuck in your head for weeks. this is not your typical emo band, nor is it a typical vagrant band. these guys have clever lyrics, and they know how to bring the rock. definitly one of my favorites in a long time. I will be very surprised if these guys don't stand the test of time, i'm sure i will still be listening to them months down the road. the vocals took a few songs getting used to...but other than that I'm amazed these guys aren't more popular than they already are. maybe after touring w/ taking back sunday these guys will headline more. anyway, pick this up if you like rock and roll w/ crazy chaotic/catchy endings. this music definitly has heart!

7/25/2003 by Austin from Higley, AZ Rating:
when i first listened to this cd i'd start listening to a song and not really like it and skip to the next one and kept doing that all the way through. when i got to the end i was pretty bummed and put it away. a couple weeks later i decided to give it another try in the car. this time the cd sounded amazing. i just figured out that, with this cd you have to listen to the songs all the way through because the first parts of the songs are usually relly fast and poppy like homegrown and aren't that great by themselves but along with the complex melodic american football-like bridges and chaotic taking back sunday-like endings every song is made unique and memorable.

7/9/2003 by James from Andover, United Kingdom Rating:
Yeah yeah yeah....this is the stuff iv been looking for! Moneen have always been a favourite of mine since their first album, and they really show no signs of stopping making top drawer music. This is really hard to catergorize, its very reminiscent of Taking Back Sunday in places but then they go and throw it on its head and put some really great stompy rock parts. If i had to compare it to some bands id do the formula: TBS x Coheed And Cambria + Cave In= Moneen
