| I used to be a huge Rufio fan back in my early teeny days of pop punk. Their first album, which everyone knows was pretty amazing, left me expecting big things for their next albums. However, i soon lost my love for really poppy punk and kind of forgot about Rufio. But now since i decided to finally buy this album, still with big expectations, I cant help but feel a little let down. 1985 is a good album, yet just doesnt measure up to Perhaps, I Suppose. There are a couple of songs I really like including, Science Fition, White Lights, and Follow Me. But its not one of those albums that you can just play over and over because it just has a little too much filler and not enough killer. |

| DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HATE POP PUNK.
However, if you like fast pop punk, I recommend this CD 100%. It is full of FAST dual guitar work, with speedy drumming and catchy vocal melodies. The CD starts off with "Countdown," a classic Rufio crafted tune. Energy and passion compliment the breakdowns and major-key guitar riffs. For fans of The Fullblast, OLD Saves the Day and The Box Social. |

| There are already many reviews for this album, but i'd like to bring my view so here's mine.
I don't know how people can find the sound not good. The production did its job, the sound is great, perhaps too clean for punk-rock according to me. Rufio kept their sound and their style on this album, while developping their emo and metal influences a bit more, for example on the song "Control" which sounds a bit like Thrice and on "Pirate" which sounds a lot like Iron Maiden. The singer's voice has also evolved through the tours, i find it now more original.
Everyone is ok to say that those guys are very talented musicians and got crazy riffs. My favorite song is "Goodbye", the melody is so great, it warms my heart. But even if "1985" is a good album (with a superb artwork ; there's even a picture of a french train haha), i prefer the incredible "Perhaps, I Suppose...", it's longer, faster in general, and the melodies are better, i love all the songs except one i like less ("Stop Whining"). When listening to "1985", the attention goes a bit down in the middle. And i would prefer they recorded other songs than "Why Wait ?" and "Set It Off", since the 1st versions were already great.
But this album is much worth buying ! And if you haven't still seen Rufio on stage, don't hesitate, i went to Brighton and London in UK last September and it's one of the best bands i've ever seen (and i've seen a lot), they spring everywhere, the drummer is awesome, and they're among the nicest guys too.
If you like rufio, check out the French band Straightaway..i've seen them many times live and at rehearsal, and trust me, they kick ass ! |

| There are some songs i love but some songs not so much on this album. rufio do have such a unique sound and sound nothing like new found glory! i have had this album for sometime now and still listen to it at least once a week. It is a good album to drive with especially through the summer time!!! |

| This CD was a disappointment. Their older stuff is a lot better. There are a few good songs, but it definately wasn't what I expected. |

| I was expecting this cd to be a whole lot better. rufio certainly has musician skills. theres a lot of nifty guitar work. its just the vocals that bring everything down. not only is the singer rather whiney (think guy from new found glory...) the lyrics are disappointing. i wish i hadnt read the lyric booklet. not quite so bad as 'perhaps i suppose', though.. that album had lines that would not suprse me if i found them on a backstreet boys record. but this cd isnt terrible. it catches on. and rufio is awesome live. |

| Rufio sound like a band on acid or something and I'm a big fan. Extremely fast drumming / guitars. Melodic hooks. However, poor voice - more so on this album than 'Perhaps....I suppose' which is strange. 'Perhaps....I suppose' is a better album so if you dont own it buy that instead. |

| Well. This cd is awesome! However, i dont think its quite as good as "Perhaps, I Suppose". This cd is a little softer, I think. But still, if you are a big Rufio fan, buy the cd! |
