The buzz surrounding the formation and growth of Norway's 1349 has been building for some time. With only a hard-to-find mini-ep to their credit (released in 2001 by Holycaust Records), the band features amongst its membership ranks Frost from Satyricon. Now signed to Candlelight, the band's early media support network eagerly awaits the release of their full-length debut, Liberation. Holding very much to Black Metal's origins, Liberation is an uncompromising affair that truly speaks to fans of the genre both new and old. Lightning fast drums, chaotic guitars and bludgeoning vocals enshroud the listener as album selections "Manifest," "Deathmarch," and "Liberation" take hold. The five-piece have played alongside likes of Gorgoroth and Cadaver Inc. and no doubt plan dates in support of Liberation.
