Pelican - Pelican
Chicago instrumentalists Pelican startle then lull the soul, establishing an aural atmosphere listeners can be jarred by and then lose themselves in. The quartet propels with purpose, demonstrating instrumental songs can be urgent and impacting, not just dismissed as 'mood' music. Pelican entrenches resonant tones deep into the listener's psyche and maintains interest and attention.

I got Pelican's 2 full-lengths before this one, but I think this just might be my favorite. 4 heavy, atmospheric, and sludgy instrumental tracks that are similiar, in many ways, to Isis. Great stuff, and if you are already a fan, you need to pick this up.

Pelican Reminds me if Instrumental, Metal, Space Rock. Not as good as Australasia or the new EP but its still pretty good. I dunno there is just something about this that seems missing from the other two albums, it is their first one can easily tell. Make sure to check out Australasia first then go from there. I know they are recording a new cd now, cannot wait for that to come out.
