| Okay....Let's start with the positives. I want to say that I think it was well within Jerry Only's right to start up the Misfits again in the 1990's. I thought the Graves Era Fits were really good and made really good albums. Once Graves, Chud...and eventually Doyle too....left....I started to get concerned. So then the Misfits release project 1950 (a collection of their favorite classic covers) with Dez Cadena replacing Doyle. I have to admit it sounded pretty good. So I thought..."well maybe Jerry could pull off the lead vocals". On this CD, "The Devil's Rain"...I do really enjoy one track called, "The Black Hole"...Jerry does this kind of Meat Loaf vocal via the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" style. It sounds cool. I like that song.
Now.....I remember some years ago Jerry said that this album would be heavy in the sense "Earth A.D." was. This is not a heavy record.....at all. I'm sure Jerry was burned out on front men after dealing with Graves walking out.....but The Misfits really need a lead singer to continue. Most of these songs do not sound good with Jerry on vocals. The songs could be good with a stronger vocalist. I have to also wonder....if kids go to see the Misfits now....do they have to sit through these songs...instead of the classics? So hopefully Jerry will get another lead singer and make the band strong and quit making the Misfits a novelty band. Look how KISS turned out! |

| Pfff they'd better left the Misfits for what it was. This is really a crappy cd. Boring songs, shitty melody's.... I believe they just needed some cash and used the name Misfits to make some profits out of it. What a shame. :-( |
