Alongside labelmates like the Aggrolites and the Slackers, Westbound
Train is one of a new breed of bands closing the circle between classic
soul, jazz and reggae. For their new album Come and Get It, Westbound
Train had the chance to go into the studio with producer Dave Hillyard
of the Slackers, who brought out the loose vibe of classic soul and jazz
the band had always loved. Already major draws in their hometown of
Boston, the band have been building a national following through
relentless touring since their 2006 Hellcat debut.

I don't feel compelled to write reviews, usually, but with this album, I have to make an exception. WBT really comes into their own on this record, and seamlessly blend soul, ska and reggae to make a fantastic combination. This record takes the best elements of their previous three and make their greatest LP since! Congrats WBT, and I'll see you on tour this summer. Keep the ska flame burning!
